When Art was over I said good-bye to Jess for her day ended, but I had dance to go to still which, I was really excited for.

"Okay, now On... Call me later got it?" Jess called down the hallway. I gave her a thumbs up while nodding my head and I saw her smile and turn around towards the main entrance of the school.

I had kept my map from the first day so I could use it for this exact purpose. I didn't know where the dance classroom actually was.

"If you're looking for the dance room Anya its Room #103." I looked up to see John. I bit my lip then nodded.

"Thanks. John-" He turned to look at me.

"Sorry for my outbursts lately. It's just I've been through a lot in my life and dance had helped me translate my feelings." John smiled.

"I understand. I know class ends at 4:45 so I'll have Toby come back to pick you up."

"Okay, thanks." Now Room #103. That was...

At the other end of the building!

"Alright class, now let’s start with our warm-up." The class shifted towards the middle of the room as the door closed loudly behind me. "Who do we have here?" I looked up to see the teacher. It was a guy.

"Um I'm new." I said biting my lip softly not knowing what to say. I was technically new to this class.

"Very well." He clapped his hands three times and all of the kids moved to the sides of the room leaving the dance floor open and clear. "Sine you're new we'll show you what being late does."

He looked towards a girl at the stereo and nodded. She pressed a button and music started to play. The song was actually Breathe Me by Sia.

I knew the song. Why was he playing it?

"4-minute improv* solo." He said. My jaw dropped.

What?!

I had to dance for4 minutes to a song I had maybe heard once on my first day where I haven't been dancing in a long time! This was crap! The teacher grimaced as I put on my shoes and had the girl stop the song.

"If you wouldn't mind Miss. Kelsie, but today sometime." He said. I took in a deep breath and walked to the middle of the room. I sighed as the music started once again. All the eyes on me felt pretty ruff.

I took a step forward and a second after the words started which made me off a little bit. I went to keep going when the music stopped once again. I looked towards the teacher and he shook his head and walked towards me.

"Now..." He didn't know my name.

"Anya." I told him. He nodded.

"Now Anya, listen to the music. Count your beats and also..." he motioned to the crowd of students watching me. "They're not here. It's you and the floor. The music is playing and nobody is watching."

He stepped away and the music was restarted again. I closed my eyes and when I opened them the room was empty except for one person. In the front of the room stood my mom smiling. She nodded me on and I took a step forward this time catching the right beat.

"Help, I have done it again

I have been here many times before

Hurt myself again today

And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame

Be my friend

Hold me, wrap me up

Unfold me

I am small

and needy

Warm me up

And breathe me

Ouch I have lost myself again

Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found,

Yeah I think that I might break

Lost myself again and I feel unsafe

Be my friend

Hold me, wrap me up

Unfold me

I am small

and needy

Warm me up

And breathe me

Be my friend

Hold me, wrap me up

Unfold me

I am small

and needy

Warm me up

And breathe me"

The music continued to play without words and my body kept moving along with it. It was like the music was going inside of my body and producing this dance.

Slowly the music faded and I stopped looking up to see my mom's figure gone and the room full of students again. My breaths were hard and deep as I looked towards the teacher who was really shocked.

"How did I do?" I asked between breaths. He was speechless.

"Uh..." He shook his head then smiled. "Anya this is Dance and I'm Mr. Haultin. Welcome to the class."

"Alright now class is over." Mr. Haultin announced as we finished class. I grabbed my stuff and took of my shoes and put them in my dance bag which I slung over my shoulder started out of the room. I felt my phone vibrate and I pulled it out of my pocket.

1 New Text Message from:

Unknown Number.

I raised an eyebrow as I read the message.

Hey Anya it's Toby. My dad said to get you at 4:45, but I can't make it. Can you wait? Maybe until like 5:30? --Toby

I started to type back as I felt someone hit my shoulder.

"You're Anya right?" I looked up to see a guy about 6'0 and he had brown hair and bluish-green eyes.

"Yeah..."

"Oh sorry my name is Chris. I just wanted to compliment you on your improv solo that you did." I smiled.

"Thanks."

"Okay well, I'll see you around?" I nodded. "Alright… bye!" He waved to me as he walked away and caught up with a group of dancers. I looked back down at my phone and thought for a second.

It's ok Toby. I can just walk home. --Anya

Are you sure? --Toby

Yeah I'm fine. --Anya

Alright see ya later --Toby.
