Treys POV

'Ohh It's so gorgeous!' Melinda gushed.

I stifled a groan. She'd said that about the last ten or so dresses that she'd tried on In the elaborate store. She held up the red silk dress in her hands and beamed at me. The store manager was more than happy by the looks of it. God, who'd of thought that this holiday would be so....tiring. I'd spent most of my time trailing after Melinda inside different stores while she had fun with my unlimited credit card. Man, having a fiance Is hard work. You have to constantly please them and pretend to be listening to them, especially when they keep jabbering on about wedding plans. I sighed, the things I do for my pack. i was perfectly happy having one night stands and no commitment at all. I mean lets face it when you have a powerful pack, money and power you don't need anyone tieing you down, but my Uncle thinks Its time I have an alpha female by my side to run the pack. Where's my mate you might ask? Well it's simple as, I havn't found her, but I'm not fussed really.

I tapped my foot impatiently, I was itching to go back home to my pack, I trusted that all was fine under my beta's control, but I wanted to get back already.

'Which one do you think is better Trey?' I stared at her blankly. What was she talking about? She held up the garment in her hands, oh right the dress.Shit, I wasn't listening to a word she was talking about.

I racked my brain. What was i supposed to say?? 'Umm i think they're both nice' I said lamely. She looked down at the dresses in her hand and furrowed her eyebrows then grinned up at the store manager

'We'll take these two as well' The store manager practically jumped up in her space, grinning like a cheshire cat. My phone rang and I practically let out a sigh of relief as I excused myself from Melinda and the store manager that were now babbling on about God knows what.

I checked the caller Id, It was my aunt Claire. 'Hello' I answered

'Hi sweetie, how are you doing' she chirped

I groaned as I turned my head around at Melinda who was now trying on various different shoes. Aunt Claire chuckled. 'Is Melinda enjoying her time?'

'Mmm I guess she is by the looks of It

'Thats nice, when are you two coming back?'

I looked down at my watch on my wrist. 'We're coming back soon, how's the pack?'

She hesitated for a moment, but that was all that took to get me worried. 'Has anything happened?' I demanded

She sighed. 'It's anothor attack, a human this time, but don't worry It's been taken care of'

I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath. 'We're on our way, arrange a pack meeting at seven' I closed my phone before she had time to answer and i turned to Melinda.

'We have to head back home now' I said watching as the store manager handed us the bags and recite. She pouted.

'But I don't want to go home yet, can't we stay here for another few days?' she whined

'No, now come on, there's a pack meeting and it's going to take us at least two hours to get back' I ordered and she had the right sense not to argue with me. She might be my fiance, but she knew her place. I knew she was mostly interested in my position and looks, but hey I'm not complaining. I didn't have much feelings for her, but since i don't have a mate and my pack comes first, well I'm willing to make a sacrifice.

The drive home was long, Melinda fell asleep half the way and as we approached the welcoming forest in our home town I gently prodded her. 'we're here' I whispered as she stirred. She rubbed her eyes and slowly got out of the car. 'Aren't you going to take the luggage out?' she asked looking confused as i made my way into the forest.

'Nope, we'll get that later, there's a pack meeting now'

'But I need to change, how about i go back to your aunts house and change and meet you with the pack there' she offered

I nodded and watched her leave before shifting and making my way into the forest, but not before I got a bundle of spare clothes to wear when I changed back. Probably one of the most annoying things about shifting is seeing your clothes being shreded to pieces. Fun...not.

I made it to the heart of the forest and shifted back. From a distance I could hear shrills of laughter echoing in the large forest. I fastened my pace; eager to see them. I couldn't help but smile when I saw my pack members all clustered there waiting for me. 'Alpha Trey!' i heard someone shout and everyone immediately bowed their heads in respect and greeted me welcomly. Right, time to see what I'd missed in the last week.

My eyes swivelled around the clearing; my vast pack before me. i could see my aunt Claire on the right next to my cousin Dean and his friends. 'It's great to see you son' My uncle squeezed my shoulder. 'Whats happened since I've been gone?' I asked gazing at my pack. I could hear my Alpha authority come out. Everyone was silent. My beta Drake came forward and cleared his throat. 'There's been another attack, we think It's them again. We cleared the evidence before the humans could question anything' I nodded my head.

'We'll have to-' I was cut off by a shout. Everyone's heads turned around to face Ed who was running towards us. He was one of the most strongest male wolves in my pack and was also on watch duty ( guarding the borderlines of our territory) today by the looks of it. 'There's another intruder, I saw them from a distance.' I heard many of my pack members gasp and start to talk amongst themselves. I could feel the anger boil in my blood. i wouldn't let any harm come to my pack. Not while i was here.

I Instructed all the male shifters to search the area and I bared my teeth. If it was another one of them I swear to God I wouldn't have any mercy. My bones made a sickening sound as they rubbed againsteach other and my jet black wolf came out running as fast as he could, determined to catch out who crossed the borderlines.

As I sprinted, my eyes scanning the area, I  felt weird electric tingles starting in my stomach making my it clench. I didn't have time to ponder on what was going on so I just shook the feeling off; my confusion driving me to run faster.

I was running at such full speed that I had to stop in my tracks and turn around when i saw a glimmer of brown fur from the corner of my eye. I crept behind the large gnarled trees; the tingling feeling was getting even worse sending shocks of excitement and heat through my body but i had no idea why. i watched the wolf from a distance. It was definitely a female. They were usually much smaller in size. This one was absolutely gorgeous.....wait when had i ever thought of any wolf as gorgeous? Especially one that was intruding on my territory. I resisted the urge to bang my head on the trunk of the tree and knock some sense into it. Still, I couldn't help but admire her little frame and sleek chestnut brown fur. I'm sure If she had her head up right now I would see beautiful eyes to match her breathtaking complexion. I shook my head....what the hell Is wrong with me?!

She moved further down; right time to do what i have to do! I stepped forward; careful not to crunch over the leaves so she wouldn't sense my presence. She had her back to me and I took this opportunity to pounce on her. The impact was hard and we both stumbled onto the forest while my heart was in a frenzy and electricity literally bounced off me in waves.
