Chapter 9:

Liam’s POV:

When I saw Ally in that green dress, I had to catch my breath and calm my rapidly beating heart. She looked beautiful as always with her hair curled and her makeup done. I know she doesn’t need makeup, but I also know she has low self esteem and Leah said Ally actually liked the way she looked tonight, so I didn’t comment on it.

Anything that made her happy and helped her to realize just how amazing she was would be fine with me. After I saw her I talked quietly with Leah before leading Ally out of the house and to my special place.

It took a while but we got there eventually, and when I unveiled her eyes, I was nervous that she wouldn’t like it. Then I saw the smile on her face as she stared at the lake in awe and wonder.

I knew I had made the right choice then, and later I was proved even more right when she finally spoke to me. I wasn’t expecting it after I poured my heart out to her, so all I could do was sit still with my jaw on the ground.

That is where I am now. Staring at Ally astonished that she finally talked to me. I never expected her to talk to me tonight much less say that she loved me back.

Her words rang through my head over and over in her beautiful melodic voice. She looked scared when she spoke, and she cleared her throat beforehand almost afraid of what she would sound like.

She didn’t have to worry, though. Her voice was soft and sweet. It was like music to my ears, and all I wanted was for her to say she loved me again, just to make sure I heard right.

So, that is what I asked her to do. “Say it again?” She looked at me curiously, and still a bit nervous. I don’t think she understood what I was asking because she spoke again, only uttering one word.

“What?” She had the cutest confused look on her face like she was a lost puppy and I couldn’t help by reach up and stroke her soft cheek. My heart and wolf leapt in joy when she leaned into the warmth of my hand.

“Say you love me again. I still don’t know if this is real.” I said seriously and she laughed out loud. The sound was sweet and it was so much more amazing than the quiet giggles I have heard from her over the last three months.

I figured she wasn’t going to say it again because she laughed at me, but just as I was about to tell her to forget it, she spoke. “Liam, I love you so much. You are my rock. My hero. I feel like I can trust you with my life, and I never want to be with anyone else. I haven’t known you long, but I know that I love you with all my heart and I want to be with you forever.”

Her words caressed my ears. They were the best things I’ve ever heard anybody say to me. I felt complete now that I knew she felt the same way. She actually wanted to be with me, and now she wasn’t getting away from me without a fight.

She was mine, now and forever. She looked up at me from under her lashes, and I couldn’t hold it back anymore. I had to kiss her.

I cupped her cheeks and began to lean in slowly giving her a chance to pull away, but instead I noticed her close her eyes and lean in as well. It seemed like forever until our lips touched, but when they did it was worth the wait.
