Chapter 23

Liam's POV:

I sat behind the steering fuming about what that girl said about my angel. I couldn't believe she would would say all those awful things about Ally while she was sitting right next to me. She honestly believed that I would just leave Ally and my soon-to-be son just to get with her and probably acquire an STD.

I would never leave my mate for anybody, especially that girl who was so vulgar even in front of a little boy. My little boy. Well soon he would be my little boy. I calmed slightly just thinking about how when I got back to my house I was going to get Ally to leave Adam and I alone for a second so I could talk to Adam about us officially adopting him.

I smiled slightly just at the thought but the smile only lasted a second before the anger returned and I gripped the steering wheel so tight my knuckled began to turn white. I heard Ally sigh softly from beside me before reaching over and resting her hand on my knee and rubbing my leg in a comforting way.

I stayed tense for another moment before I couldn't help but relax under her touch. I smiled while giving her a sideways glance to see that she looked happy to have made me smile.

The rest of the ride was spent in a comfortable silence as Ally continued to relax me as Adam slept peacefully in the back. When we pulled up to the house, I cut the engine and looked over to Ally to see her deep in thought.

"Liam is that really what people think of me? Does everybody think I'm just some…. some gold digging slut?" She asked with tears in her eyes, and I immediately reached over unbuckling both of our seat belts before pulling Ally into my lap and staring deeply into her gorgeous blue eyes.

"Ally, listen to me. that girl is a pathetic excuse of a human being, and nothing she said was true. Nobody will ever believe that you are anything that she said. You are the most wonderful, selfless, beautiful mate that I could ever have, and she obviously didn't know what she was talking about because there is no possible way that I could ever do better than you." I said sincerely, and Ally looked up at me hopefully.

"Do you mean that?" Ally asked seemingly still scared that I would suddenly change my mind about her. I smiled softly and cupped her cheek with my hand stroking the soft skin beneath my fingertips. I loved how Ally sighed in contentment and closed her eyes with just a simple touch. It made my heart soar to see how much I affected her.

"Angel, of course I believe that… because it's the truth. You are my whole world Ally, and I will spent the rest of my life trying to make you understand that. I love you." I said before lending down slowly and capturing her lips in a gentle kiss.

She kissed me back eagerly and putted when I pulled away with a chuckle. "Ally, as much as I would like to continue this, Adam is in the back, and I could wouldn't want him to wake up and see us making out in the front seat. He would probably try to beat me up for thinking I was eating your face or something." I said giving her a quick peck on the lips before opening the door and setting Ally on the ground before getting out myself.

Ally opened the back door and went to grab Adam, but I caught her arm. "Let me take him. Why don't you go spend a couple minutes with your brother while I take Adam to our room and tuck him into our bed. Then when I'm done we can take care of the news report about Anthony." I said knowing that this would be the perfect chance for Ally to spend some quality time with her brother while I talked to Adam about the adoption.

Ally smiled and nodded. "Alright Liam, I'll see you in a few minutes." She kissed my cheek making me grin before she skipped off into the house. Then I gently picked Adam up and began carrying him up to our room. I didn't want to wake him up since he looked so peaceful while sleeping, but its not very often that I have a chance to talk with him without Ally here.

When I got up to the room I set Adam down on the bed before ruffling his hair and gently shaking him awake. Adam groggily opened his eye and yawned before looking up at me. "Hi, daddy." He said as I sat next to him before he snuggled into my side and I couldn't stop the grin from appearing on my face.

"Hey, buddy. I wanted to talk to you about something." I said and he looked up at me with his big blue yes that coincidently were the same shade as Ally's. "So, you seem to like hanging out with Ally and I, and I was wondering if you would like it if we officially became your parents?" I asked and he looked up at me confused, not completely understanding what I was asking.

"So, Ally would really be  your mommy and I would be your daddy. Then you could live here with us and hang out with us all the time. You would be our son." I said and he thought about it for only a second before nodding.

"Yeah! I want to hang out with you and mommy all the time!" He exclaimed before wrapping his arms around my waist and giving me a hug and after a few minutes his breathing evened out and he was asleep again.

I lay Adam down while scooting off the bed without waking my son up. I liked the sound of that. Now I can't wait to surprise my mate with the news.

With my thoughts reeling with ideas of how to surprise Ally tonight, I made my way downstairs to the kitchen where I could hear Ally and Anthony laughing. I walked in and instantly went to the open chair next to Ally putting my arm around her shoulder.

She continued her conversation with Anthony but I couldn't help but notice how she unconsciously melted into me, and I couldn't help but wonder how I had gotten so lucky to have a wonderful mate by my side. So, while Anthony and her finished their conversation, I just watched Ally's face and loved the happiness that radiated off of  her.

When she first came her, she rarely ever smiled, and it was great to know that she had opened up and learned how to be happy again. She had come so far from being that reserved abused girl that hid herself from the world and for that I was extremely proud of my girl.

I beamed at her when she stopped talking and looked over to meet my gaze. "How's Adam?" She asked and I couldn't help but grin again when I thought about how we were going to adopt him and he would be the first of our pups. I could only hope that Ally would want to bear my pups sometime in the future.

"Adam is perfect. He is still sleeping." I said and Ally nodded happily before snuggling even more into my side. I squeezed her a bit tighter before becoming serious and turning to Anthony.

"Alright I am going to call Rebecca, the news reporter and we can get this whole plan underway. I am going to see if she can come over and film the story today so they can air it tomorrow. I don't want them to come searching for you and put my pack or my mate in danger." I said glancing at Ally before looking back at Anthony to see him not in approval.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Rebecca's number hearing her chirpy voice pick up after a few rings. "Hey, Liam! How are you?" She asked and I smiled. Rebecca was friends with my mother and was always like a third mother to me after my real mom and Ethan's mom growing up.

"Hey, Rebecca. I'm good. I was actually calling with a favor. I was wondering if you could help my mate's brother out, and I have an odd request. We need to run a story to make some people think he's dead and we need to do it fast, so I was wondering if you could come by the house today and film the story and run it tomorrow." I said and I heard her gasp, and I closed my eyes, knowing exactly what was coming.

"Liam! How dare you not tell me that you found your mate!? I have been waiting for this moment since you were born! Oh, Dan and I are coming over right now! We will meet your mate, have a nice lunch, and then I will help her brother out!" She exclaimed and I couldn't help but mess with her a bit.

"Who said it was a girl?" I asked and tried to sound appalled. Ally looked at me accusingly while Anthony looked like he was about to crack up and I found it hard not to laugh myself as Rebecca began sputtering on the other end of the phone.

"Oh… uh.. Liam…. I. Uh.. I had no idea that you were um… I just didn't know… I didn't mean to assume anything… I just." She continued to ramble on and I couldn't help but burst out laughing, and her babbling stopped immediately.

"Oh, I am going to get you back good. I can't wait to talk to your mate. I have lots and lots of stories to tell her." She said evilly, and I gulped looking towards my mate who stared back questionably.

"You wouldn't dare." I said sounding much more confident than I felt right now and she just laughed back at me. I swallowed nervously, thinking of all the embarrassing stories that Rebecca could tell Ally.

"Oh, but I would Liam. Dan and I will be there in 10 minutes, and now I really can't wait to meet your mate and have some very interesting conversations with her." She said and before I could even reply she disconnected the call.

My face must have been a real sight because Ally giggled when she looked at me and Anthony was downright cracking up from across the table. I looked at both of them before crossing my arms and pouting. "Stop making fun of me you guys!" I whined only succeeding in making them laugh harder.

Ally stopped giggling for a second to answer me. "You have been spending way too much time with Adam, honey." She said and I just jutted my bottom lip out farther sending her into another fit of giggles.

I huffed before getting up and walking to the fridge seeing what we could have for this lunch that I was sure was going to be embarrassing. I felt Ally come up behind me and wrap her arms around my waist before letting go and pushing me out of the way so she could look in the fridge.

"I'm assuming Rebecca is coming over for lunch so I'll cook, since you obviously can't even make chocolate chip cookies." She said giving me a pointed look reminded me of the night I attempted to cook for her making my cheeks burn slightly in embarrassment. Ally just smirked slightly before turning back to the fridge and beginning to take out ingredients. "So is it just Rebecca coming?"

"No. Her mate, Dan, is coming also. I think you'll really like them. They were around a lot while I was growing up." I said and Ally gave me a small smile before becoming silent and I realized my mistake immediately. Ally never really had anybody growing up and I think it hurt her to know that I had so many people there for me when I was young.

I knew she was happy for me that I did have all those people growing up, but I knew she felt somewhat jealous of. I also knew that she hated the fact that she was jealous, and it made her guilty, but she would never tell anybody this. I just knew because she was my mate, and I could read her like an open book.

I quickly stopped Ally from making lunch and wrapped my arms around her. "Ally. I'm so sorry. I wasn't even thinking. You have no reason to feel guilty for being jealous. I understand why you feel that way, and its ok. I want you to know, though, that you will never be alone again." I said and she looked up at me with love shining in her eyes.

"Thank you, Liam." She said simply before pulling out of my arms and going to back to making what appeared to be macaroni and cheese as I saw her pour pasta into a pan of boiling water and begin shredding and melting cheese.

I watched her with adoration before turning to see Rebecca and Dan standing by the kitchen door looking at me with pride in their eyes, and Rebecca had tears in hers. I walked over and gave Rebecca a hug before shaking hands with Dan.

"Liam, you've found yourself quite the looker." Rebecca whispered looking over at Ally fondly and I couldn't help but turn to see her humming softly to herself as she seemed to be in her own little world while she cooked.

I turned back to Rebecca. "You've got that right. She's amazing in every way." I said dreamily while turning to stare at my perfect little mate again, and I heard Dan let out a chuckle.

"Liam, I never thought I'd see the day that you were whipped." Dan said with a smile on his face before Rebecca smacked him on the backside of his head while scoffing. Dan grabbed his head with an incredulous look on his face.

"Please. You know you're completely whipped, too." She said and Dan looked down knowing that he couldn't even argue with her. Every male werewolf with a mate was whipped and I'm pretty sure they're all perfectly fine with that.

I turned around to look at Ally again and noticed that she had just poured the pasta into a bowl and turned to us looking surprised that we were no longer alone. I held out my hand motioning for her to come over and she gave Rebecca and Dan a shy smile before walking over and grabbing my hand.

Rebecca took initiative and introduced herself and Dan. "Hi! I'm Rebecca and this is my mate Dan. It's so nice to meet you! I have been waiting for Liam to have a mate forever." She gushed to Ally before pulling her into a hug much like my mother had when she first met Ally.

I chuckled as Ally cautiously hugged her back before responding. "I'm Ally. It's really nice to meet you too." She said with a friendly smile which she sent to Dan also before continuing. "I cooked homemade macaroni and cheese for lunch. I am just going to go get my brother and Adam and then we can dig in!" She said happily before exiting the kitchen.

Rebecca turned to me confused. "Who's Adam?" she asked and I smiled just thinking about that little boy that captured both Ally and I's hearts in just a short while.

"Adam is a 6 year old that has no parents and Ally has taken a liking to him. He has become quite attached to her too, and I am going to surprise Ally by adopting him." I said proudly and Rebecca "awwwed" and smiled at me.

Ally came in a second later while Adam in her arms followed by Anthony. She set Adam down at the table before going to grab the pasta and carrying it over to where everybody was now sitting. Then everyone proceeded to dish out the pasta complimenting on Ally for her good cooking.

Ally smiled and blushed when Rebecca said, "Liam. You really found the perfect mate. She's gorgeous, a good cook, and she puts up with you all day long." Everybody at the table laughter while I just huffed and rolled my eyes.

My mate just giggle and kissed me on the cheek. "Don't worry, Liam. It's not THAT bad putting up with you all the time." She said and my jaw dropped as I just stared at her while she put on an innocent look that I just narrowed my eyes at.

Rebecca laughed before the entire table became serious. "So how about we go film this news story for tomorrow. We are going to make it as realist as possible so whoever it is you are trying to convince doesn't suspect anything." She said and everybody got up to go outside, but I stopped Ally and everybody turned to look at us.

"Actually, it seems like you have this all under control, Rebecca, and there's somewhere I want to take Ally. So I think we are going to go. Adam, you can either come with us or my mom said you could help her bake some cookies. " I said silently hoping that he would choose to bake cookies so I could surprise Ally when we were alone and I also want Adam to bond with my parents since they will soon be his grandparents.

"Cookies!" He screamed just as my mother walked in and he ran over to her eating a chuckle from everybody. We turned back to everybody else and they all nodded at us with smiles so I led Ally outside towards my car and we were off.

"Liam, where are we going?" Ally asked looking at me in confusion, but I just smirked without answering her and she sighed in annoyance before playfully glaring at me the rest of the ride to the children's store.

I was taking her to the children's stores where I would tell her that we were going to adopt Adam and then we could buy him anything she thought he would need.

After about 10 minutes of driving we finally reached our destination and Ally's gaze snapped to mine not understanding why we were here. I just smiled still not saying anything as I walked into the store with Ally stomping behind me.

I walked into the store heading straight towards the furniture section feeling Ally's confusion grow more and more as we walked. We finally reached the back of the store where the beds were and I scrutinized them before turning to Ally. "Which one do you think Adam would like the best?" I asked her and although she didn't know what was going on, she still turned to look at all of them before picking a mahogany wood frame that had a matching dresser and nightstand.

"I like this one, but why are we picking out a bed for him. Is something wrong with the one he has now?" She asked while staring at me and I shook my head while beaming at her.

"No, I just figured that since I was planning on adopting Adam with you that when he moved into our house that he might like some new furniture." I said watching Ally's face as my words seemed to finally sink in and when they did she stared at me in shock.

"You want to adopt Adam?" She asked and I just nodded while pulling her towards while maintaining eye contact. She stared up at me waiting to make sure I wasn't joking, and when she was sure her whole face lit up in joy and she squealed in delight.

"Liam! That's the best surprise ever! I already think of Adam like a son and now I can officially be his mother! Did you talk to him about it, though. Does he want me to be him mom?" She asked worriedly and I almost laughed because Ally was completely blind. That little boy obviously idolized Ally and loved her, and everybody except Ally could see that.

"Ally, Adam was ecstatic when I told him that when we adopted him, he could live with us and hang out with us all the time. I already talked to Ms. Larsen and she thinks its a great idea. That little boy loves you, and he already thinks of you as his mommy. Adopting him will just make it official." I said and she looked up at me lovingly before pecking me on the lips and then rushing out of my arms and around the store picking out things that she thought would be perfect in our son's new room.
