Hey guys, I know I know, I didn't update Sunday. I am so sorry, I haven't been feeling so great this past few days, and my wattpad time has turned into sleep time, but I am finally done with this chapter, PHEW!

Last time... We got some background on our other main character, Chase, and we learned some more about the king creature, that was pretty much it. Note that sometimes two chapters will happen at the same time, as it is with this chapter and the last. (That's kinda important for future chapters too, so remember that). Also remember the unhealthily glowing green dust on the leaf that Chase picked up ;D

"Man, I'm starving," AJ complains. As if triggering it, my stomach rumbles furiously.

"Ug. Is your mom home yet?" Leila asks exasperatedly. I look at AJ for an answer.

"We would've heard her come in, but I'll go check anyway," she says, rushing out of her room in anticipation. I hear her footsteps thunder down the hall and then silence. We sit there for a minute, listening to the erie wind that blew a whistle in the window.

"I'm bored," Leila says. she looks around for a minute, searching for something to occupy herself with. Her eyes finally rest on AJ's open closet which was filled almost a quarter of the way up with stuffed animals, crowding the few dress shirts AJ owned.

Leila smirks. "Stuffed animal war?" She says, trying to sound tempting. It seemes childish to have a stuffed animal war when we should be... I don't know, grieving over Aubrey's death, but right now, nothing sounds better than a stuffed animal war.

I mirror her expression with mine.

"Yeah," I agree.

"Soldiers, collect your rounds on three!" she asserts in a commander's voice. "ONE!" We ready ourselves to lunge at the closet, determined to be the first one there. "TWO THREE!" she yells, quickening her shouting pace so she gets a head start.

"Hey!" I smile, leaping after her. She dives into the closet and I jump in after her. My knee bangs against the side of the closet, but it doesn't bother me much. We toss around in the sea of stuffed animals, filling our arms with them as we rush out. I plunge behind the plum colored bed, Leila around the other side. She begins bombarding me with the smaller stuffed animals first. The harder ones hit the light purple drywall behind me with a muffled thump. I fire back at her, rapidly as possible. We are held in a stalemate for quite some time, until I get an idea. I gather up all the stuffed animals that I have and jump onto the bed, some straying from my hands and falling onto the ground. I loom over her while she pelts wildly at my face.

"PREPARE TO BE BOMBED!" I boom in a deep, fake voice. She curls up in a ball on the floor like a turtle. "THREE! TWO ONE!" I holler, mimicking her previous cheat. I hurtle the twisted ball of animals at her, and she pretends she was actually shot or something.

"Oh no!" she fake wails. "I've been hit! I've been hit!" She does a strange spasm with her legs like she is having a seizure and she stubs her big toe on AJ's dresser. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" she whines. "That actually hurt!" Her fist closes around the foot of the giant teddy bear behind her. "LANA YOU WILL NOW FEEL THE WRATH OF THE GIANT TEDDY BEAR!" She screams, after her proclamation hurling the bear at me. I dodge it, but it still catches between my legs and I go tumbling down onto the carpet. The bear falls beneath me and my knees dig into its stomach rather than the floor. It still creates a deafening boom and a shake throughout the house. We make guilty faces at each other, sucking our lips in and making our eyes wide.

"AJ?" AJ's dad hollers edgily. "What're you doing up there?" Leila and I stifle giggles.

"Umm, nothing, Dad," Leila replies, trying to match her tone of voice with AJ's deep one.
