Chapter 14

Geoffrey’s POV

Charles has been looking for Jesse for two days now. At first he wasn’t bothered but now he is practically driving himself crazy. He said that Jesse could be dead, I doubt he is dead though. If he is I’m sure we’d know about it. Yesterday he spent about five hours on the beach just asking people if they’d seen anyone. I honestly don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Jesse has been living alone for a month so why would something happen to him now? Just because Charles is here doesn’t mean something is going to happen to him, plus he spoke to him two days ago.

Callie and I sat at the kitchen table with Victoria. Callie had just finished school and we were now eating dinner. Charles was still in our room texting Jesse hoping for a response. ‘I’m going to go take this upstairs for Charles,’ Victoria indicated as she picked up a plate of food. Callie nodded as she pushed her plate away from her.

‘I’m a little worried about Charles,’ Callie announced as she folded her arms then look at me seriously. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, what did she want me to say? ‘I have an idea.’

I grunted as I ate the last bit of chicken before putting my plate beside Callie’s. ‘And what is this brilliant idea that you’re going to share with me?’ I questioned with a fake smile. I felt Callie kick me under the table and I frowned at her.

‘We need to go to Daman’s house,’ Callie decided as she stood up.

‘Callie stop,’ I uttered as I looked at her without moving. ‘Why do we need to do this? Jesse can take care of himself,’ I finished.

‘Have you seen Charles recently, he is upset and it’s annoying. Just come on for God sake,’ Callie snapped finally as she walked off. ‘Mom we’re going out,’ she quickly shouted up the stairs before leaving the house. I groaned loudly as I stood up lazily then followed.

We stood outside of a house which I didn’t recognise. ‘Who is Daman?’ I whispered into Callie’s ear hoping whoever was in the house wouldn’t just appear and think I was rude.

‘Jesse’s friend; now shut up and wait,’ Callie whispered back harshly. I frowned again and just waited at the door. The door opened and a tall boy answered. He had light brown, slightly curly hair. He was also quite tall.

‘Wow Callie, who’s this?’ the boy asked as he lent again the door frame. He looked at me then winked before smirking. I stepped back a little nervous.

‘This is Geoffrey, my friend,’ Callie giggled beside me. ‘Geoff meet Christopher, Daman’s boyfriend,’ Callie introduced us. I smiled friendly but I still kept away.

‘What are you doing here then Callie? If you’re looking for Daman he’s in the shower,’ Christopher told us. I just nodded. ‘So whatever you need, you’re stuck with me now.’ Callie laughed again.

‘So do you know where Jesse is?’ I asked getting a little inpatient.

‘He went back to Driftwood didn’t he? At least that’s what he told me about two weeks ago,’ Chris answered.

‘He told that to me a month ago but he hasn’t gone back yet,’ Callie also said.

‘Well I’ll look out for him,’ Christopher spoke. ‘So would you like to come in for a bit, I’m sure Daman won’t mind seeing you?’

‘No that’s okay, we have to find this stupid runaway,’ Callie laughed as she hugged Christopher. ‘Tell Daman we stopped by and I’ll see you later,’ Callie finished as she pulled away.
