Bruce looked at you- the pain evident in his eyes.

"Y/N..." He began. You shook your head. It was useless, there was nothing he could say, you were leaving him.

"Bruce, I can't. I can't stay with you. Not with you holding back like this.  Need someone who's there for me Bruce, and right now I feel that it's the other way around." You said staring into his sad eyes.

"You don't mean that..." He said, trying to grasp onto something, anything to anchor him.

"No Bruce, I do mean it. And it kills me but I might have to do it before the other guy does." You said grasping the tranquilizer you held in your purse for times like this. If you timed it right you could tranq him before he turned. It's worked 1 out of 10 times so the odds where really in your favor.

"So that's what this is about?" Bruce asked.

"Yes, Bruce if I date you I want all of you- and that's not something you willing to give me." You said flipping the switch.

"It won't work." He said, not moving.

"What won't work?"

"The tranq- it won't work- I've tried."

"You think I'm trying to k- to hurt you? Bruce I wouldn't do that- if never...." You said and stopped yourself before you said it.

"You'd never kill me? You'd be surprised. Desperate people do some crazy things." He said, looking at you from under his dark lashes. You shook your head.

"Bruce- I have to go. I can't stay here. I can't say with you anymore. I can't do it. I'm sorry." You said trying to get away from him as fast as possible- maybe the pain would hurt less. You left his lab, quickly leaving Stark tower, your tears running freely down your face. You ran into a confused Tony and a concerned Steve- ignoring them both.

The drive home was event less. Besides the sickening ache in your chest. It wasn't supposed to hurt this much- this was good for you.

You got home turning in the TV for some background noise, watching the news.

"........military is currently searching for Dr. Bruce Banner to take him into custody of the United States....." Your head snapped up to see the part of Bruce you feared to see.

The other guy came out. Because of you. He tore through New York like it was nothing. You changed the channel but to no avail. Bruce was everywhere. He lacked total control of the Hulk.

There just isn't any relaxation when dating Bruce is there? You asked a small smile playing on your face. That smile then turned to a laugh.

"There's nothing to laugh about Y/N." A firmiliar voice said. You turned to see Steve, Bucky and Tony fully suited and unhappy. You continued to laugh, doubling over holding your hand up for them to wait.

"This isn't funny is it? No no it's not. Not at all." You said laughing some more, leaning on the wall for support those laughed turning to cries as you say on the floor. "It's my fault. I did this." You said. You didn't look at them- couldn't look at them.

"Is she going to ignore the fact that we followed her home, like some creepy stalker?" Tony asked.

"Shut it Stark." Bucky replied, slipping past Steve to kneel beside you.

"Hey, everything's gonna be okay doll. We'll figure this out." He said slowly laying his metal arm on your shoulders as a sign of comfort. You grabbed his vest pulling him close, sobbing into his chest. He hesitated, the sudden contact catching him off guard until he wrapped his arms around you with a sign. It had been awhile since someone hugged him so intimately. "We'll figure this out doll. Don't worry. We'll figure this out."
