"So what's your resolution this year?" You asked Matt- entwining his fingers with yours.
"Be a better attorney I guess." He said quietly- turning to look at you.
"No Matt, I meant your real resolution."
"Get rid of Fisk."
"I thought you'd say that." You said, slipping your hands from his.
"Y/N- what- why do you shut down like this at the mention of Fisk's name? The city needs me."
"No Matt! You need this city. And you'll die for this fucking hell hole you call home."
"That my job."
"No it's not! Your a lawyer not a superhero Matt. Haven't you thought about the rest of us. Maybe those of us who would rather you didn't....I don't know....throw your ass out in the middle of harms way to kill someone?" You asked, your voice raised, tears prickling your eyes.
"I'm sorry I don't have time to think about you." Matt said his voice cold. You were taken aback by the harshness of his words. He wasn't usually this....blunt.
"Well happy fucking new year asshole."
