In the African language of Kiswahili, Ujima means "collective work and responsibility." In a time of Ujima, we are charged to work together to help one another.

This book is dedicated to the ancient principle of Ujima, and to the knowledge that we will never be completely free until we learn how to stop oppressing those we love and start making a collective effort to lift one another up.

Here's to a new day and a new way to treat our spouses and our children.
