Aunt Trista

Daniel was seated in his office. He was wondering if Angel is hiding something from him.

Angel came over and opened the door to his cabin.

"David, Can you please come over once?"

"Sure."

They both went into her cabin with Angel leading.

There on the table was Veronica's work area set accordingly.

'Now or Never' was the only thought that Daniel had.

"Angel, there is only one thing I need to ask you"

"Go ahead, Danny"

He felt happy that she called him by that name.

"Angy, Can you please tell me the reason of your approach"

Angel sighed. Daniel is going to work with her. He should know of her approach. She has not met the team yet. She has to get along with them so as to team up and find everything soon.

"I went through your notes last night. You have taken every detail into consideration. You asked about her past, met with her friends, talked to Vivian and inquired about their relationship. Her behavior was normal. Let me tell you, everything was perfect.......... and that is the problem."

"So?"

"The only thing you left was her work"

"I asked about her work at 'Latte'."

"Latte as in the coffee shop?"

"Yes"

"Greens?"

"That was what she did in the spare time"

"Even that counts"

"Is that why you are trying that area?"

"Yes, I don't know if Grisham's departure has anything to do with Veronica's death. I want to find out about her research more."

"I also have to know one more thing. You are her friend right? How did you not know about anything?"

"When she left Duke, she cut ties with me. That was the last I saw of her."

"Cut ties?"

"No, she did not break our friendship. It is just that we both had to go separate ways."

"Where did you go?"

"I had to go for the academy training to Travern. We did not have contact there."

Angel was emaciated. Her stomach growled in agreement.

Daniel let out a small chuckle.

"Let us go to Junkies."

Angel was nodding in agreement.

Angel entered the restaurant and was enticed with the aroma.

There was an older lady behind the table.

She eyed Angel up and down.

"Hello little lady, what do you want to have?"

"Hi. I would like some grilled chicken sandwich."

"And what about you Daniel?"

"Same."

"Please wait for some time. We will call you once it is done."

"Thanks"

Daniel made his way to the chairs.

Angel stayed where she was. The old lady looked up.

"Is there anything else I can get for you dear?"

"Were you here from a long time back?"

"I was born, brought up and married to Willy here."

"Oh I see. Then did you get a chance to talk to Veronica?"

Trista looked into Angel's eyes.

"Who are you dear?"

"I am investigating the case. Name's Angel"

"Oh dear, but why did you not say that straight away?"

"Because I did not want to do it that way. Did you know her personally?"

Trista stared at Angel for a long time.

"Yes. She was a regular customer."

"Not like that. Were you on friendly terms with her?"

"Yes"

"Did she share anything that you might find fishy?"

"Nothing that others don't know of"

"If Veronica is friendly with everyone, then why would someone want her dead?"

"There is more to it than that meets the eye."

Angel was shocked to the core. By the time Angel started to ask, Daniel appeared at her side. Trista smiled and handed the food over to them.

"By the way, I am Trista"

Angel nodded and went to sit.

'This talk will have to happen soon.' was the only thought that Angel had.

Daniel was talking about something and Angel was stealing glances at Tristan. But she was busy with her work.

Daniel looked at Angel. She was somewhere else.

"Hey, what happened?"

"Nothing"

"Did Trista say something?"

"Nothing of help."

"Are you worried about that?"

"About what?"

"That Trista did not say anything."

"I miss Veronica."

They had their lunch silently.

While coming out of Junkies, Angel decided to look over at Veronica's house.

She asked Daniel to go to Grisham's house and try to contact him.

Daniel refused to go and asked her to tag along as he will miss something.

"See Angel, if you have did some thought process, then you have to come to look over. I don't know what is going in that head of yours"

"Danny, I just want to look at her apartment"

"I will come. I have something to show you there."

"What?"

"We will see it there"
