Chapter 23

Frances's POV

As soon as we got out of Fessineger Academy, we ran our way towards a bus stop and rode the bus that was going to - I don't know. As long as we got away from that Academy we are safe, and I'm happy that we are safe.

Anyway, as I sat down on the bus, I looked out the window and had some deep thoughts. Deep thoughts about the prophecy... and what happened awhile ago... and what Joe Bob said awhile ago about the cursed blade... and about Leo...

Sigh. Leo. Honestly, why is he so memorable to me? Almost every time, I think about him, even during serious times.

Why is it that it seems like I love him, even though I can't! Dianne, my sister, loves him. I don't want to be the third party, especially that I know that Leo likes her too.

Well, I can't get the fact that Leo saved me out of my head. It just comes back to me over and over again. Maybe Leo loves me too-?

No, what a ridiculous idea. Even if that is true, I cannot allow it. Dianne's heart would be broken.

Anyway, enough of Leo - for now. I need to think more about the prophecy and this cursed blade Joe Bob mentioned.

I think that the cursed blade is actually Peleus' sword, also known as the sword that I am using in the present.

While I was fighting Echidna, she told me, "Hmmm.... A cursed sword..." So, maybe it really is. And, Clarisse mentioned something about this sword being cursed. And of course, the incident with Joe Bob.

Joe Bob told me that a curse is cursed on a certain blade which enables - what exactly? Joe Bob didn't get to finish his sentence, because he's hiding something. What could there be to hide?

Sigh. Anyway, I'm really tired right now from the battle with the giants, but I don't want to sleep because I know I'll have nightmares.

But I have to rest, and so I did.

And just as I thought, another nightmare crawled its way towards me. And for sure, this nightmare took longer than usual.

Peleus ran faster than ever. There were many soldiers chasing him with swords and torches.

"For killing our king!"

"Peleus is a traitor!"

Those were the cries of the soldiers.

"But I didn't kill him on purpose," Peleus started to reason. He then hid in the stables of Phthia. Suddenly, a horse behind him whinnied and it gave him an idea.

Peleus quickly rode the horse out of Phthia, leaving the soldiers in disappointment. He went on and on until he reached a sign that read: Iolcus.

As he went in the gates of Iolcus, he got off his horse and quickly ran towards the palace of Iolcus that looked like a castle that you usually see in fairytales.

"I need to talk to King Acastus!" shouted Peleus to the guards of the palace who were blocking the palace.

"And why do thee needs to talk to the greatest and magnificent King Acastus?" said the guard with a very large beard.

"Because I seek to be purified," Peleus simply said.

"Purified? Bah - what crime has thee commited?" asked the guard.

"I accidentally-" Peleus began to say, but he caught himself. "It's none of thou business, just let me talk to King Acastus."

"No criminal shall enter the palace," said the guard viciously.
