Mom and I decide it's best to go in separately. I think what I have to say to him is best no heard by her.
I go in first.
"Rose," Rumple says, "My beautiful Rose."
"I think it's best if you keep your distance."
"Look, Rose-"
"No. I speak first. You had no right to beat Mom and Amber. I don't care what they did, but that is no excuse for your actions. Amber actually died from her injuries."
"Oh my god-"
"She was only saved by true loves kiss. But that's beside the point. Amber took many of the hits intended for Mom. Just keep in mind that it could have been your wife you killed."
The bell tinkles. Dad and I both focus our attention on the woman who has entered the shop. "Excuse me, are you Mr. Gold?"
"Yes."
She looks at me when she says, "Could you give us a minute?"
I turn on my heel to face Gold and say, "I hope you burn in hell." And with that I walk out.
I find mom with her ear pressed against the wall. She gives me the shush sign, and I join her in eavesdropping. We listen as the woman inside speaks.
"Rumple." She addresses him by his old name.
"I'm your mother."
