Eleanor

The blinding sunlight hit me as I opened my eyes. It's rays beamed through the gaps in my curtains and onto my bed, creating a line of light leading up my body.

Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes and stretched my arms out.

It took a couple seconds before the extreme hangover hit me like a brick over the head.

I began to close my eyes again before remembering that I had school today, I darted my eyes over to my wall clock: 9:30. No school today then!

I sighed to myself contently although still dying from hangover before picking up my phone. I had a few missed texts.

Van(1) 9:10

Van: Morning love not going to school today how's the hangover?X :)

Me: I just woke up (so obviously no school for me either) and I'm dying :( x

Almost instantly Van replied.

Van: C u in a minute!X

Me: ...?

Confused, I put my phone down on my bedside table and turned over in bed.

As I began to close my eyes I heard a light knock at the door.

I opened my eyes and saw my mum standing in the doorway.

"Hangover?" She asked mockingly.

"Did you come to tease me or what?" I replied agitated as I sat up.

"Well I did come to see how you are, but..." She trailed off.

"But what mum?" I wipe my hand over my face. My mum looked taken aback from my snapping.

"There's someone downstairs for you." She said giddily.

"Send 'em up." I reply without thinking and flop back down on my bed. "Mum!"

"Yeah?" Her head popped back around the door.

"Make me a cuppa." I whined.

My mum rolled her eyes before walking out of sight.

I lay there for a few seconds, before hearing someone running up the stairs to my attic room.

Curious I sat up to see who it was. All of a sudden a mass of hair and a lively body came into sight.

I smile internally as I see Van bounding over like an exited puppy.

"Hey love, how's the hangover?" Van's cheeky voice made me feel a bit less dead.

"I'm dying! Wait, why are you here?" I ask.

"Couldn't leave you here to die alone now could I love?" He beamed. I managed to flash a weak smile back at him.

Van's eyes were locked on mine making my stomach feel weak, he was so captivating.

"So then, what you got!" I motioned to his backpack that was slung over his shoulder.

"Supplies." Van grinned.

"Oh yeah? Show me." I grinned through my spinning thoughts.

"Ok we got..." Van walked into my room and plopped down onto the bed next to me. "Paracetamol, biscuits, movies and Julian." He chucked everything onto my bed, holding onto the Strokes CD's defensively.
