Chapter 8; Redoing the date

Authors note- yes I know Josh is older then Mackenzie but for the story I'm making Maddie and them two years older and Josh and Mackenzie are in the same grade mackenzies just 15 and Josh is 16 if that makes sense

Joshs pov

Mackenzie just said my plan is working I have  no idea what that's suppose to mean that's when I remember the bet it had been a week I still had three more weeks with her phone she said she's falling for me the original plan was Mackenzie Ziegler never turned down a  bet but she couldn't live without her phone either I wanted to collide both things and maybe she would find a third thing she couldn't live without and that third thing would be me

I sure hope it would anyways

After she said that I stood staring dumbfounded at what she had just said after she said that she walked out of the room and I was staring at the space mackenzies body filled not only a minute ago I don't know how long I was standing there but eventually my sister pokes her head in the door

"Josh are you coming or not" Paige asks

"Yeah" I stretch and follow her out Melissa Maddie and Mackenzie had already left and I was driving Paige and Brooke home because mom had to sit through a meeting for work

When I pulled up to my house we got out and Paige got a phone call

She answers "hey Maddie what's up"

"Yeah sure"

"Oh mackenzies coming too?"

Face palm this is going to be awkward

"Yeah that works"

Paige winks at me

"Shopping?"

"Oh okay"

"No I can't believe it either"

Believe what, what the heck

"Yep okay bye"

"Brooke" Paige hollers

"What" Brooke yells back

"Can I use your jeep" Paige hollers back

"No" Brooke yells

"Why not"

"Because it's mine"

"Me and Maddie wanna go shopping and I know you don't wanna come because we are meeting chloe and kendall"

"You mean the devil herself" Brooke asks now looking over the banister where me and Paige were standing

Brooke had this strong hatred for kendall Vertes since forever ago

"Yes?" Paige questions

That's when Maddie and Mackenzie burst through the door

And the 'devil herself' as Brooke calls her kendall honks her horn outside and yells

"GET IN LOSERS WE'RE GOING SHOPPING"

"Looks like kendall bummed Charlottes car since she's home visiting this weekend"   Paige shrugs and her and maddie leave

I look at Mackenzie and she stares back at me

"So.." She asks

"Mackenzie why are you here" I ask

"Josh why are you being difficult" she asks and suddenly I can see the hurt that hides in her eyes

"Mackenzie.." I reply

"Josh." She states staring at me

"I just want things to be normal" she says

"Can we forget this whole bet thing"

"so I get my phone back" she cheers

"Nope" I wink

"Damn you Joshua" she pouts

I scoot closer to her and run my fingers through her hair

"Josh" she smiles leaning closer

"Mackenzie France's ziegler" I reply smirking

I grab her hand and begin pulling her up the stairs at the top of the stairs she looks at me puzzled

"Don't ask" I reply she was now sanding in front of me and my back was to my bedroom door

I stare into her eyes and reach behind me to twist the door knob open

I let her walk in first and I follow

"I'm starting to question myself on why I came" Mackenzie says walking over to my bed and sitting down

"I've been wondering that since Paige said you were coming"

"I'm hungry" Mackenzie says switching topics

"Wanna go make food" I ask her

"Yep" she says getting up and beating me downstairs given she's not shy at all she begins searching through the fridge

I walk up behind her "hey why don't we just go to bdubs"

"K whatever" shuts the door to the fridge and walks out to my car climbing into the passengers seat as I get into the drivers seat I watch as she messes with the hem of her shirt and I start the car and begin driving to where we had our first "date"

Once i pull up to bdubs I walk over and open the door for her again and we walk inside bdubs together I only have 2 more weeks to make her like me back so I'm trying to speed up the process because I know for a fact that if I give her her phone back and we aren't dating yet we never will.
