Mackenzies POV
Thursday, 8 days left
"WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS OH MY GOD" I hear Maddie scream from outside.
I place my empty cereal bowel in the sink and go outside.
"What don't we have time for" I ask Maddie
"I have a flat tire and finals for this semester starting at 8:30" Maddie yells.
"Maddie chill just use moms car"
"USE MOMS CAR? IN CASE YOU HAVENT NOTICED MOM ISNT HERE"
"Call chloe"
"Chloe's already at school testing"
"Kendall? Kalani? Brooke? Paige, Josh? Anyone?" I ask
"Kendall, doesn't have a car at the moment, Kalani has never had a car, Brooke is probably in the parking lot sucking Brandon's face off, and Paige rides with Josh, who I bet you don't wanna see right now" little does Maddie know me and Josh have been hanging out every night since Monday in my room.
"Just call Josh I'm NOT walking in the snow"
"Kay" Maddie pulls her phone back out and dials Josh
"Yes mackenzies here" Maddie rolls her eyes
"Thank you bye"
"He said he will be here in 2"
I smile running back inside to grab my backpack.
I join Maddie back outside and sit on our front porch steps waiting for Josh. The whole time listening to Maddie pace back and forth mumbling curse words to herself.
"Hey there he is Maddie" MADDIE snatches her backpack off the ground and races out to joshs car.
She hops in the back next to Paige and leaves me awkwardly sitting next to Josh. As far as Maddies concerned I still hate Josh.
"Josh I'm gonna be late floor it" Maddie screams at him
"Maddie, you have 10 minutes"
"And you drive slow"
Josh rolls his eyes and drives at the same pace as before.
I shake my head and roll my eyes as well.
"Maddie your such a drama queen" Josh complains as maddie grunts in frustration.
"Try living with her" I reply
Maddie throws a banana at me.
"Maddie where did you get a banana"
"Home"
"We don't have bananas"
"I lied it was just in the floorboard I wanted you to eat it"
"Josh why the heck do you have a banana In your floor board" I ask turning to Josh
"I don't know I get hungry" Josh replies
"I'm throwing it out the window"
"Your not throwing my banana out the window"
"Yes I am"
"Mackenzie give me the freaking banana"
"What are you gonna eat it"
"Yeah" Josh snatches the banana. And peels it
"Let's pretend that didn't happen"
"JOSH" Maddie screeches
"What"
"You just passed the school"
Josh chuckles "oh oops"
Josh pulls off into the elementary school parking lot to turn back around.
Josh pulls through the parking lot, almost hitting several kids, before pulling back onto the road.
"5 minutes Josh" Maddie complains as Josh turns into the Highschool parking lot.
"Suck it up Maddie" I hop out of the car
Maddie grabs her stuff and nearly pushes Paige out of the way who had kept quiet this whole time.
I stand outside of joshs car and stretch for a second before beginning to walk in.
I feel an arm wrap around my shoulder and look over to see Josh.
"Hey" he says softly
"Hey" I reply wrapping my arm around his waist
"So can I give you a ride to school tomorrow" Josh asks
"Yeah I guess" I reply taking my hand back and stuffing it in my jacket pocket
"Hey kenz" Josh asks stopping
"What" I reply stopping as well
"What's wrong" he asks turning me to face him
"Nothing"
He slightly turns his head to the side
"Are you sure" he asks
"Yeah" I shrug it off.
"Okay he replies wrapping his arm back around my waist and started walking again.
He holds the door open for me.
"Thanks" I mumble in response
I begin to walk a little faster, probably offending Josh but I need to get to class.
I look back to see him awkwardly stick his hand back to his side
I smile at him before turning to my locker.
Josh walks past me and goes to his locker, a few lockers down
He quickly snatches his books before coming back to me
"If your upset with me just tell me" he says before turning back to walk away.
I grab the hood of his jacket softly causing him to jerk around
"What" he nearly screams.
"Josh I'm not upset with you I just don't feel good and need to get to class"
"Whatever" he mumbles
I sit my books back in my locker.
"Josh wait" I grab his wrist.
"What do you want mackenzie"
"I'm sorry Josh I-" he stops me by pressing his lips to mine, I surprisingly kiss back.
I don't know how long we kissed but the bell rang, signaling school starting. But we still had passing period.
However we were stopping by several kids screaming 'get a room''
I'm finally the one that pulls away.
"Sorry I mumble resting my head on his chest.
"It's okay" he mumbles back sitting his head on mine.
"Okay I've really got to get to class" I laugh pulling away going back to my locker.
I grab my stuff, and race off to first period.
