Still Friday
"That was nice"
I say to Josh as we walk out of Olive Garden,
"It was" Josh replies lacing his fingers through mine
"So what's next" I ask Leaning on his shoulder
"Do you wanna just go on a walk" Josh asks
"Sure" I reply
We set off walking down a beautiful street it felt like we were in a movie. The sidewalk lit up by the street lights and Christmas lights strung between them. Those tumblr window shopping stores with Christmas lights lining the windows. And we weren't the only people taking advantage of this beautiful cool night there were several other couples and groups littering the streets. I can't help but say it felt somewhat magical.
We walk slowly down the street as I lean on joshs shoulder as it begins to get cooler.
"Hey Josh what time is it" I ask as we are well away from joshes car parked back at Olive Garden
"Um let me check" Josh unlaces his fingers from mine for a moment to pull his phone out.
"It's about 10"
"I should probably get home then"
"You wanna just see if you can stay at mine"
"Alright let me call me mom"
Josh hands me his phone and i snuggle up against him as I find my moms contact still saved as Old Grandma Melissa
My teeth begin to chatter as I hit the call button.
Josh takes off his north face jacket and drapes it around my shoulders. I protest at first but he insists, leaving him in just a t shirt.
"Hey" my mom picks up.
"Hey mom is it okay if I just stay at joshs"
"I guess Mackenzie but don't do anything you know you shouldn't" my mom replies after s moment of contemplating
"Okay thanks I'll see you tomorrow" I reply before hanging up
"That's a yes?" Josh asks as I hand him his phone back
"Yeah"
I reply taking his jacket off
"Take this back" I give it to him
"No your cold" he takes the jacket and drapes it back over my shoulders
"You wanna start heading back" Josh asks noticing the streets are beginning to clear leaving just a few scattered people.
"Yea lets go" Josh begins walking towards his car and I follow lacing my fingers back in his.
Josh leans into me struggling to keep warm.
"Let's go" I mumble as I set into a slow jog fingers still laced with Josh.
Josh pulls his keys out of his pocket as we get closer to Olive Garden. Now teeth chattering from the drop in temperature Josh unlocks his car. Being cold he still comes around to open my door for me and I step in and he gets back in the drivers side. Before he starts driving I drape his jacket back around his shoulders. He smirks at me before turning up the heat.

"I'm gonna go steal a Hair tie and some sweatpants and a tshirt from Paige" I inform Josh taking off my boots at his front door
"I don't really think you have to steal it she might just let you borrow" Josh replies hanging up his coat
I roll my eyes and hop up the stairs and knock on Paige's door
"Go away josh"
"It's not Josh but if you want me to go away I will" I tease
"Ooooo no kenzie come in"
I open Paige's food and come in
"So why are you in my household"
"Staying with Josh tonight"
Paige raises an eyebrow
"No Paige!"
"I just need some clothes" I lean in the doorway.
"Alrighty follow Paige" she says before untangling her legs and begging up adjusting her messy bun then walking info her closet.
Paige grabs a pair of Nike pros and a Franklin regional tshirt.
"This good" she asks tossing me the stuff.
"Yeah" I reply taking off my sweater and replacing it with the tshirt.
Once I'm changed I think Paige and go to joshs room.
Josh is now standing in ️basketball shorts and no shirt plugging his phone in with his back to the door.
"Hey" I say leaning in the doorframe
"Oh hey" Josh says
"Well I'm tired" Josh gets into his bed and shifts back then pats the spot by him.
I lay down next to him taking a moment to get comfortable before falling asleep in Joshs arms.
