Josh runs in as soon as he hears the door slam. His eyes scatter the room until they finally fall on me. His helpless, pathetic girlfriend.
"Don't listen to her, we are perfect together." he says as he engulfs me in a hug
"You-you heard t-that?" I say hiccuping in between words Whislt having a minor anxiety attack.
"Yes beautiful, I did." He says while stroking my hair as he hugs me.
I just let go of him and fall to the ground.
"I'm so, so so-sorry J-Josh." I say as I break into tears.
He kneels down beside me and grabs my hands
"Hey, hey, Av, don't cry. I don't care. I know what mum's are like. She's just looking out for you, she wants the best for you. And I am obviously not up to her standards." He says.
"I d-don't care what h-her stand-dards are! You a-are what's best f-for me! Y-you are the l-love of my life J-Josh. She can't g-get in the w-way of us!" I cry
"Hey, how about we go up to your room and calm down." He suggests. I just nod in reply as I'm struggling to get any words out.
He gently but surely picks me up and carried me upstairs.

As we lay in the bed he gently traces patterns on my back. He knows this calms me down, this, and stroking my hair. He stops and I look up to him
"I love you Josh. Thank you so much." I say looking down, playing with the doona.
He grabs my chin softly and guides it so I am looking into his eyes.
"No Ava, I love you."
He softly guides my face up to meet his for a kiss. It was soft and passionate. Not rough and hot. In this moment, we were in love. as he continued to kiss me we both fell back on the bed. he slowly made his way up my shirt and started to run his fingers along my skin. his cold fingers left small trails of goosebumps up my stomach. the way his skin felt against mine made me feel safe. I pulled his shirt off and started running my hands up and down his torso. He didn't have rock hard abs. his tummy was soft and fragile, almost like a doll, the tiniest mistake and he could go crumbling to pieces. Although he was soft, you could see In his eyes, full of lust, that if you pissed him off he could crush your head In his hands. As the afternoon grew longer we became more passionate. No sex, no yelling or screaming. I didn't need pleasure in that moment. all I needed was him. The touch of his skin on mine, to be able to breathe in his scent. I love this boy. I never want it to end.

We slowly pull away, only to move closer to eachother. He wraps his arms around me from behind.
"You know Ava, one day I hope that we will be in this position, but faintly in the background we will be able to hear the soft murmurs of our kids sleep talking." He says as he looks at me.
"I want that too. Josh, I really don't deserve you." I say as tears fill my eyes from the beautiful sight that lies before me.
"We accept the love we think we deserve beautiful." He says as he wipes away my tears.
"I love you Joshua." I say, closing my eyes
"I love you more, Ava" he says as I feel a soft kiss being planted on my head.

As I fell asleep, I could only hear and feel the softness of my love lying behind me.
