'confessing is going down the drain. they want me to shave my hair off.

oikawa is the type of guy who can get anyone he wants. why would he want a sick bald guy?

it's silly of me to care. it's happening so i can get better. but i don't want it.'

'oikawa gave me hair again.

not literally. he did it with make-up. but it was really sweet.

i confessed by accident. he said he likes me too. i guess we're together now. if my hair were here, i'd probably be happier, though.

oikawa's a blessing to me. i really like him.'

'matsukawa and hanamaki shaved their heads. it was freaking awesome. they're the best friends anyone could ask for.

oikawa protected me at school. it was cute. he was so confident. i wish i had that confidence. but i like it more on him.'

oikawa was in his second year of university when he got the news.

'hurry to the hospital. it's natsu.'

his breath had stopped, he almost dropped his coffee and he spontaneously felt sick. until the next bit arrived.

'don't worry. it's all good.'

relieved, he got dressed and made his way to the hospital. after high school he decided to not move out too far away, but to stay near the hospital. it's where he did part of his training, being a med student.

he entered easily, now officially allowed to come through the employee back door. he saw saeko hurrying around with a smile on her face, so he went straight to natsu's room.

"oikawa-nii!" she exclaimed as he entered. her mother and brother were both there as well, looking relieved.

natsu ran up to him and he lifted her up easily, grinning at the little girl. "how're you doing?" he asked her.

"great! i'm free, oikawa-nii! i got better!"

oikawa looked at her with wide eyes, glancing at her family, who smiled happily. tears formed in his eyes.

"oh, thank goodness!" he exclaimed, hugging her tightly. "i knew you could do it!"

"thanks to oikawa-nii helping and bringing me drawings," she grinned. her face fell a little. "can you still bring me drawings?"

"i'll stop by to bring them, if that's okay?" her mother nodded approvingly.

"yay!" she squealed, hugging him again.

oikawa felt content. he knew that losing natsu to the same disease would have destroyed him. but to witness her survive meant everything to him.

natsu and her mother carefully toom the drawings down, leaving hinaya shouyou and oikawa to talk.

"so, chibi-chan," he smirked, "you happy?"

"don't call me that!" he blushed. "and yes. i am. very."

"good," he smiled. "i'm glad she made it. losing someone to something like this..." he bit his lip. "it's one of the most difficult things to go through. it destroyed me a little."

"did you get over it?"

"no. i don't think i ever will," he sighed. "but i've come to the point where i smile when he's mentioned in stead of wanting to curl up and sob." he twiddled his fingers. "i'm proud of my progress. i miss him, and i do think that if soulmates existed, he would be mine. but he's gone now. and i'm going to make the best of the time i have left on earth."
