White Noise by PVRIS

Amoura spent three days in the training room, with the locks bolted on the outside, just to ensure she burns the rage on the room, not a vampire. "The potential you hold Amoura Stone." General Alzack walks in as Amoura lays on the patted floor exhausted. "Take her to the next room and get another bag of enhancer in her. Her healing is slowing down. When she comes to tell her she can return to her apartment." Rai nods as he picks her up and does as he's told.

Amoura wakes up with Rai on the cot next to hers, "you finally sane?" He asks as she looks over to the bag of enhancer that is burning her insides.

"Why? Did I lose it?" She asks him, "frequency box made you go all murderous."

She sits up and holds down the desire to pull the IV out, "that happened last time too." Stone mutters as she holds onto the bed ledge, "did it take you three days to burn off the rage?" He asks as he walks around her bed to sit in front of her.

"No, I was given Reaper blood and an Alpha to fight. I was better in twenty-four hours. Did I kill anyone?" Stone looks at him.

"Only the humans," she nods, "ah so no one important."

"Nope," He hands her a cigarette, "here." She looks at it and asks why, "they help, for some reason." She takes the cigarette and lighter.

"Alright, you can go back to your apartment. General Alzack has cleared you," Stone gets up and gets dress, "Oh and Stone, for what its worth, I'm sorry for the way he broke you."

Stone stops to look at him, "don't be I don't feel it anymore." Rai watches her leave in sadness, she probably could have saved us all.  Rai sighs as smokes a cigarette.

Stone makes her way back to her the housing complex to find it empty. Laying on her bed were reenlistment papers, she picks them up and searches for a pen, she quickly fills them out.

"Stone you here?" Jural asks from the hall, "in my room," Jural walks in, "are those your enlistment papers?" He asks and she nods.

"Are you going to reenlist? Or are you going to get out?" She shows him the filled out forms, "why would I leave?" Stone looks at him, "because this place is hell."

She nods and looks at the papers she set down on the bed, "this place might be ugly in many ways, but at least here I'm not a wolf among sheep," he looks at her "just another blade among weapons." He adds as an afterthought. "Something like that."

"I'm making dinner come and eat." Stone stays were she stands, "I'm good, I'm not hungry," Jural nods and walks out, stopping at the threshold, "hey Stone?" She meets his eyes, "I'll get you back," She catches on to his meaning.

"I'm better off this way," Jural clenches his fists, "no you're not, this isn't-" Stone cuts him off "it's me now." Jural looks at. "I'll get you back." Jural stands firm, "maybe I don't want to go back." Stone replies, "no one wants to live empty inside." He walks out and Stone catches herself in the mirror. She can't go back, she won't go back. She will not spend another night haunted by the screams. She will stay like this, Jural or anyone for that matter will change that.

Stone second year was about to end and the enlistment papers were already in General Alzacks files. And every day that passes she is more certain she is doing the right thing by reenlisting.
