Chapter 7 - A New Side of Raika

We college kids are having midterms...

This is the time that we all go nocturnal to study.

*Click*

"I'm Baacck ..." said Raika entering the living room

"Oh, hi."

 "Mina , Studying again ?"

"Yeah , i change my shift from work and i thought i could pull out an all-nighter.."

"I see , Well i guess i'll join you .."

"Sure , i'd like that , would you like something to eat or drink ?"

"Yay ! Good Man , thanks Mina.."

With my new schedule, i usually meet Raika when she comes home..Naturally we end up talking a lot..

"Well how's the studying coming along ?"

Raika asks back in the living room, dressed for bed..

"...There's ups and downs..." he said

"Hmn..you can't go down.." 

(That's what she said...whoooooo , oh god i'm like a 12 year old.)

Raika looks more cheerful than usual...

"Raika , did something good happen to you at work ?"

"Hmn ? Not exactly, just ..It's nice having someone to talk to when i come home.." she smiling at me ever so sweetly..

"Huh ? R-Really ?"

"Yeah , everyone else is usually sleep , though sometime Yomiko comes home late as well but she's tired when we seldomly meet.."

"Well , I'm glad you don't mind talking to me.."

"Hmhmm.."

Raika giggles and sits in front of me..

"Oh right , i remember i prepare a midnight snack for us.."

"Really ? Thanks."

"I'll go heat it up.."

I stick the covered plate of food into the microwave..

*Ding!*

I set the hot food on a tray and carry it to Raika..

"Mhhnnn...i'm sleepy.." 

"Oh' you should eat something first..I admire you for being able to work so late , and i appreciate hanging out with me for a moment , but if your sleepy you should go to sleep  Raika.."

Raika smiles and narrows her eyes softly ..

"Thanks, Mina. You'll make a great husband someday.."

"H-huh ?Wh- What's make you say that ?!"

"Because you're caring and really nice..."

"I-i wouldn't say that .."

"Really ? I've never met a guy as nice as you, Mina.."

"Really ?"

"Yeah...I've been with a lot of different types of men."

(Different types of men ?)

(Whoa !) I barely rescue the meal from falling of the tray..

"E-excuse me , what ?"

"Hmnn? What ?"

"W-what did you just say ?!"
