Chapter Forty-Five: You're An Idiot

I threw another piece of popcorn into Alex's mouth. He caught it this time instead of the others that hit his eye or forehead.

"So you excited for next week?" he asked.

I returned my focus to him. "Next week?" I tried remembering what was happening next week but nothing popped up.

He gave me an are-you-kidding-me look.

"I'm not kidding you, big bro."

"So you're completely forgetting how you're having a party next week."

"Oh," I mumbled, "that."

"Well you're not excited at all."

"I told Claire that I didn't want this huge party! But she went way out of my comfort zone and now we have a whole party!"

Alex chuckled. "It's just family."

"Family that I don't even know. That you don't know either!"

"Well they just want their daughter to have a good time. Can't she?"

I rolled my eyes. "You're an idiot."

"How does that make me an idiot?" he said defensively.

"Because it just does," I muttered before hopping off the stool. I went upstairs into my room where I found someone sitting on my bed while looking through my camera. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Well hello to you too," Reese responded.

"I asked you a question."

"And I said hello."

Was this house full of idiots or something?

"Why are you looking through my camera?"

"I didn't have anything else to do. It was there and curiosity took over me."

"Curiosity killed the cat."

"You're telling me." He lifted up his arm where a cut stretched from his elbow to wrist. I almost winced at simply looking at it.

"What happened?"

"Kind of had an accident back at the warehouse," he complained.

"What were you doing?"

"Climbing stuff that I wasn't supposed to."

Yep. Another idiot. "You're not Spider-Man. Why would you be climbing things that you're not supposed to."

"Curiosity killed the cat," he mocked.

"What? You were looking for something?"

"No. Just wanted to climb stuff," he mumbled. I sighed before snatching my camera away. "Hey!"

"My camera. You're not supposed to look through it."
