"We're going on a picnic!" Luke skidded into Ashton's bedroom, awakening the younger boy with his shouts. He stuck his head out from under his fluffy, peach colored blanket—a gift from the boys—curls messily ruffled around his tanned face.Michael and Calum followed closely after Luke, a grocery bag in the raven haired boys grip, and a cliched picnic basket in the pale lads small hands. "Come on, baby, get yourself all sexy and we'll go," the dark haired boy cooed, kissing Ashton's cheek. The blonde blushed brightly, before crawling out from under the covers. He was shirtless, clad only in gray sweats hung low on his thin hips. A muscled stomach that was surprising for his daffodil personality immediately had the boys' gaze, and Calum revised his prior words. "Okay, you're already sexy. Get yourself all clothed and we'll go."
Ashton's cheeks were immediately dusted with a rose pink, before tugging his glasses on. Michael, who loved the sight of Ash in his slightly too big glasses most out of all the boys, pulled the boy closer to kiss his forehead. Meanwhile, Calum and Luke sifted through the seventeen-year-old's dresser and closet.
They eventually chose black skinny jeans, a Sex Pistols top—that was actually Michael's, left there after the boys had all stayed the night—and a flannel. Once Ashton saw the clothes, he gently shook his head with a giggle. The boy accepted the jeans, but instead chose an oversized navy and black striped sweater. He walked into the en suite bathroom, deserving a pout from the boys.
Once he exited, the four lads headed towards Luke's car—a black vehicle, splattered with multicolored paints, including glow in the dark and sparkly. It sourced from the time Ashton'd been painting a mural on his stepdad, Carter's, garage door, and Michael had decided to try jumping off the roof. Luckily, he'd found a legit parachute in Carter's garage, and the only damage had been a new paint job on Luke's car. The blonde hadn't been bothered, getting his revenge on Michael by making him lose three points, in one day.
The boys piled into the car, Luke forcing Calum and Mikey into the back upon the decision that he didn't trust them to keep their hands to themselves. Luke glanced at Ashton, making sure his seatbelt was done, before starting the car, and backing out of the driveway. Michael, who was seated behind Luke, leaned forward to perch his head on the blonde's seat.
As he often did, the boy whispered distractions in his ear. "Spider on your legs!" He shrieked unnecessarily loudly, and though he knew it was a trick, Luke swerved the car the slightest bit, one hand smacking at his denim clad limbs.
"You're going to kill us," Calum commented, but his voice was light with amusement.
"Nah," Michael decided. "Just helping Luke improve his driving skills." The blonde pouted, slapping blindly behind his head at the milky pale lad. Ashton giggled, leaning across the seat to hold the wheel steady.
Michael continued to breathe in Luke's ear, occasionally murmuring things that had Ashton blushing upon hearing snippets of it, and the older blonde shifting in his seat. "I'm never driving you anywhere again," Luke whined, gripping the wheel tightly. Mikey chuckled, while Ashton giggled and took almost complete control of the wheel.
They drove they like that, until a police car eventually floated into sight, and sat back, Luke refocusing on steering the vehicle. Michael smiled cheekily at the uniform clad cop, waving with feigned innocence. Ashton giggled, blushing and ducking away from the window.
"You're so cute," Luke observed, smiling fondly and connecting his and the tawny blonde's hands. He kissed the younger lads knuckles, soft and free of the scars that marred the others.
It wasn't much longer before the four boys reached a local park, that had been overtaken by QCT students. A forest stood alongside a playground, in which was a tree fort the past students had created, expanding across four huge oaks. The friends ignored it, instead heading towards a lone tree, and Calum dumped out the grocery bag he'd been toting about.
A mound of flannels landed on the damp grass. At Ashton's confusion, Cal elaborated. "He wanted either a plaid or checkered blanket, and I don't have either," the brown boy explained, pointing at Luke. The boys spread the shirts out, and Michael plopped his basket down. The blue haired lad tugged out a bag of sandwiches, and then tilted the basket to reveal its contents to be popcorn. It wasn't bagged, and a few bits were squished, but it had the other three boys smiling.
They had no cares that it was barely noon, all crowding tightly to eat from the picnic basket. They were close enough so that their knees were brushing one another's, and Luke wrapped an arm around Ashton's slim waist. The younger boy leaned his head on the older lads broad shoulder, eating popcorn sporadically while the other three ate it as quick as possible without looking like slobs.
As the lads chatted casually, they didn't notice a muscled boy watching Ashton right away. Calum saw him first, raising an eyebrow. Michael then noticed, and waved at him cheekily. The rust brown haired boy ambled over, smiling at Ash flirtatiously. "Hey. 'M Remi," he greeted, holding a hand out to the tawny blonde. The seventeen-year-old's eyes widened subtly, so that it was near impossible to notice, but his friends knew how shy he was.
Calum leaned around his friend, shaking the brandished limb. "Calum," he responded. Remi glanced at the eighteen-year-old with mild surprise, nodding distractedly. He turned back to Ashton, only to have Luke pull the small boy into his lap.
"I'm Luke," he said, with less protective hostility than Calum, but still seemed careful of the brunette.
"Michael," Mikey added, and pointed to the curly haired blonde. "And Ashton." Remi joined their circle without invitation, lounging in Ashton's vacated spot.
"So, what're you lads up to?"
