Damon's pov

I wanted to make her happy. After hearing about why she didn't want to go to school, it made me wonder what kind of life she had.I didn't want to ask. I can see it in her face that she didn't want to talk about it, so I wouldn't push it.

I waited for her to come to bed. the moment she sat down she started to scream and cry in pain. I watched as she feel to the floor.I felt horrible cause I know all I can do is watch her. I got up went next to her ,and picked her up gently. I placed her in my lap she buried her face in my neck, and cried it out. It killed me inside to know that I couldn't do anything to stop her pain. all I could do was watch and wait till it was over.

When the pain stopped and she calmed down her eyes were red and she wouldn't sit still

"Da da Damon, what wa was that?" she said looking up at me the last of her tears fell down her face.

"I don't know. I've only seen someone go through this once ,and was because her mate had mated with another woman." when she started to cry again. it had finally hit me.he mate rejected her that's why she couldn't trust me at first she trusted him and he hurt her.

"Makenzie did you find your mate?" I couldn't help but ask her I needed to know

She took a while to answer "yes I did" that bastard who would want to hurt her

I looked down at her and said "Makenzie don't worry about him you could do better it's his lost cause he lost a smart beautiful creative girl trust me he's not worth you crying over him"

I picked her up and put her in bed I climb in behind her I held her close hoping that she never has to go through that pain again

"Damon?'

"Yes makenzie"i mumbled into my hair

"Thank you"

"If I had a dollar for every time you said thank you I would have a million dollars by now" I heard her laugh and when she stopped she slowly feel asleep

Makenzie's pov

when I woke up I the morning the next day I didn't see Damon next to me I went the bathroom took a shower brush my teeth and when I came out still no Damon I went to the kitchen and he still wasn't there where could he have gone I heard some noise coming from outside I follow it to his garage I saw his legs under a car.

"Damon?" he stopped and rolled to my feet and got up

"Shame on you missy you messed up your surprise" my surprise? What was he up to now?

"Damon what surprise what crazy thing are you doing now?"

He pulled the cover off of the car and it was A 2011 Lexus it was silver and shiny it was amazing

"Well surprize"he was smiling ear to ear wait for my reaction

I screamed my head off and ran to hug him we both feel to the floor laughing "thanks Damon"

"I'm pretty sure you would want to go places and I have to work so I gave you A car so you don't to ask me you could just go" he said this as if it was nothing but he didn't know how much this meant for me.

I could help but smile and we stayed there like that for a moment he looked at me before he slowly pulled me in for a kiss it started out slow and calm but soon it became hungry and passionate he licked my bottom lip asking for an entrance I gave him one his hand started to roam my body it felt like hours just us but he pulled away it had only been minutes we were both breathing heavy he smile and pushed a thread of hair behind my ear and crested my cheek I felt like millions of wings were fluttering in my stomach. He got off of me and held out his hand and helped me up he lead me into the house he never let go of my hand until we got into the kitchen

"Tomorrow you start your classes so today let's do want ever you want cause tomorrow I go back to work so today is your day"

My day was perfect we had fun laughed and kissed it was amazing I hadn't had that much fun in so long that night I cuddled into his arms he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to him I heard his heart beat it was so peaceful that night I fell asleep to the melody of his heartbeat.
