Maya's POV

It's been 3 weeks since Lucas left. I was getting by with him not being here but I missed him like crazy. We talked everyday but I missed the closeness, I missed being able to cuddle with him, and being able to kiss him.  Topanga was still working on making it so he could come home with me. There were a lot of things she needed to do so it wasn't going to be a quick process. Riley has been wonderful.  She's been there for me every step of the way. If I have to babysit and am having a bad day missing him she  comes along with me. She's even joined in on a few FaceTime calls. with me and Lucas. He was forever grateful to Riley for helping me. Bethany didn't have to have to work today so I went right home after school. Mom was there with Shawn when I got home. The two of them had gotten really close over the past few weeks, I was so happy that she was happy.

I laid my backpack on a chair and then walked over and sat beside her on the couch "Hey baby girl. How was your day?" Mom said as she put her arm around me.

I leaned my head into her shoulder and sighed "It was okay. I'm really starting to miss Lucas."

"I know you are. Shawn and I have a surprise for you." she said and I lifted my head up to look at her. Many thoughts were running through my head at this point.

"Did Topanga get him off probation?" I asked as that was the first thing that popped in my mind.

"Not quite yet." she replied. "Shawn has something for you."

I turned around to look at Shawn, a look a confusion was evident on my face, "What do you have for me?"

Shawn looked at me with a smile and then started to open up his jacket before pulling an envelope out of the side pocket. He handed it to me and I stared at it for a few minutes.

"Open it kiddo." he replied as mile was on his face.

I looked at Mom who was smiling ear to ear turned my focus back to the envelope. I was so confused. The expression on my face when from confusion straight to shock and happiness when I saw a round trip to ticket to Texas for this weekend.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." said as I practically threw myself into Shawns arms. "You're the best."

"Don't mention it. I know what it feels like to have someone leave you. Even though the circumstances between us are completely different I get it.  I was in love with a girl named Angela in college.  She left me by going with her dad to go overseas . I haven't seen her in years. But your relationship is totally different because you get to talk to him everyday and are still with him even though he's technically not here." he replied.

"You don't know how much this means to me that you would do something like this for me."  I replied and now I was crying.

"I think I do kiddo." he said as he wiped one of my tears away.

I looked over at my mom and smiled, "You got yourself a keeper Mom." I sniffled.

"I know I do." she replied and I leaned into her hugging the tickets close to me.

I felt her put her hands through my hair, "I can't wait to talk to him tonight and tell him I'm coming to see him this weekend." I said as I pulled out my phone to send him a text to tell him to FaceTime me as soon as he could.

Lucas POV

I was really missing Maya lately. The FaceTime calls, the phone calls, and the texts just weren't cutting it for me. I wanted her to psychically be here with me or for me to be there with her. I had just got done with my second to the last class of the day when my cell phone went off alerting me a to a new text.

"Hey,  Huckleberry, I know you are in school but call for FaceTime as soon as you can. I have to talk to you. Love you." - Maya

I had an overwhelming feeling of worry set in and texted her back asking if everything was okay and she texted me back right away and said everything was perfect and to not worry just that she had some news for me. I told her I would call her as soon as school got out. My dads truck had a bluetooth in it so sometimes we would talk when I was on my way home. The one thing I noticed about Maya's texts is the tone was different. She almost seemed happy. I couldn't wait to get out of school to find out was going on. The next class seemed to drag on and when the bell rang for dismissal of the day I shot up out of my desk and quickly made it to my locker to grab my things before leaving. After turning my truck on I set up the bluetooth system and called Maya. She picked up on the second ring.

"Hey, there Sundance." she said and she sounded awfully happy which was good to hear.

"Sundance? That's a new one." I chuckled. I loved the many nicknames she has for me."You sound like you are in a good mood today. Almost like you are back to your old self now. That makes me so happy."

"Well hearing your voice makes me happy and I got something to tell you." she said with excitement.

"Spill it beautiful." I replied.

"Guess whose coming to Texas to see you in two days?" she said nearly causing me to run a red light. I slammed on the breaks causing the tires made a screeching sound.  I heard her start laughing,

"What did you just say?" I said with a smile on my face.

"Well first off don't wreck again but yes I'm coming to see you in two days so be ready."

"The next time you have something like that to tell me for god sakes Maya make sure I'm off the road. I nearly ran a red light." I replied and she started laughing.

"I'm sorry I love you." she replied.

"I love you too. I can't wait to have you in my arms again." I replied.

Maya and I talked until I got to the Farm. I was so happy she was coming out to Texas. I hated to hang up with her but I do all my Farm chores and I wanted to get them over with so I could FaceTime her later. I was so thankful for her mom's boyfriend buying her a ticket like that. 3 weeks was way too long. Now I only had to wait 2 days to see her again. I couldn't wait to kiss her and hold her.
