Chapter 39

A/N: you all get another update this morning because best friend lost her mind on me for how the last chapter ended. Then it's waiting game until the very last one.

Maya's POV

I had lost Lucas. This was it. He told me to get out of his life which is the last thing I really wanted. When I got home my mom was sitting on the couch and she immediately became alarmed. I went over and she held me as I cried in her arms.

"Maya what is wrong?" she said.

"Lucas hates me Mom. He wants me out of his life." I said and she moved me and made me look at her.

"Maya Penelope Hart what happened?" she said to me.

"Mom, I'm pregnant! I tried everything to make it so this would never happen but I just had to get sick and we had sex on my birthday. I was just finishing up the ant-biotic. I wasn't even thinking about it having an effect on the birth control pill." I said as I sobbed harder. "And Lucas just got accepted to NYU but I had no other choice in telling him because I stormed out of prom after they were tall talking about their future. He was so mad at me Mom."

"Oh Maya. Okay for one you need to calm down right now." she said. "And after you calm down I want you to look at me so I can talk to you.

I took in a deep breath and tired to calm myself down. At least Mom wasn't mad at me. Once I calmed down enough that I could talk to her and I looked up at her.

"Okay I think I have calmed down a little."

Mom tilted my chin up to look at her and she smiled "Maya, this was a shock to him just as much it was you. I say give him some time to process everything. I think it's going to turn out okay." she said with a smile as she wiped my tears away.

"How can you be so sure about this?" I asked her.

"Because I know Lucas. He probably right away regretted saying what he did. He loves you too much. I've seen the way he looks at you. You two are young but you can do this. I support you in whatever you do. We will figure things out." 

"Thanks, Mom." I said as I continued to lay on her. When 11:00 rolled around I went and got out of my dress. Mom helped me take everything out of my hair.

Lucas POV

After Maya left the parking lot I turned around to see Riley and Farkle coming out of the building. Riley asked me where Maya was and I told her what had happened. When she found out what I said to Maya she got really mad at me and stormed off with Farkle following her behind. I didn't feel like staying any longer so I called a cab to take me home. I walked in and Mom was sitting on the couch so I sat down beside her.

"What's going on? You are home fairly early." she said to me.

"Might as well get right to it then Mom. Maya's pregnant." I said and she looked at me shocked.

"I thought you guys were really careful?" my mom said "How could you be so irresponsible?"

"Maya said it was because of the anti-biotic she took. We got caught up in the moment the night of her birthday. Sometimes we wouldn't use condoms but she was always protected with the pill. We just didn't think." I sighed.

"Well where is she now?" my mom asked.

"Home. I told her to get out of my life."

My mom gasped and looked at me with an angry look "Lucas Friar I have raised you better than this. How could you do that to her?"she said to me.
