Chapter 17

Maya POV

It has been a week since I left Texas and even though I was really sad the day before and the day I left I actually did a lot better this time around. I think seeing Lucas so upset was an absolute reality check that needed to happen so that I would get my shit together.  I had never seen Lucas that upset and it really pained me to know that he was so upset thinking he hurt me. Today after school Riley, Farkle, and I had to study together for a Health Sex Ed test that we had the next day. It worked out perfectly that Riley had to babysit Auggie because he and McKenzie could play while the three of us studied. I had already checked with Bethany to see if it was okay that Farkle come over as I already knew she was fine with Riley. I was glad that she didn't have a problem with it.  

I looked up from Health book and turned to look at Riley and Farkle "Have you guys ever tried to put a condom on a banana?" 

"Oh my god Maya that's so random." Riley laughed. 

"No, but I've tried putting one on myself." Farkle answered. Riley and I legitimately busted up laughing. 

"What?" I giggled. 

"When Smackle and I were together and started getting serious, I wanted to make sure I knew how to do it right." he answered. 

"I can't with you Farkle." I snorted. 

Riley turned to look at me and I could tell she had something on her mind "Can I ask you something Maya?" 

"Of course RIles. Whats up?" I replied. 

"Have you and Lucas gone all the way yet?" she curiously asked. 

"The only thing we have done so far is making out. In all honesty we have never really talked about that yet." 

Riley and Farkle exchanged glances with each other and when they noticed that I caught them they both looked down at their books. 

I stood up from the table and grabbed Riley's hand "Lets go Rile's you're going to come with me. I want to talk to you for a minute."  

Riley stood up and together we walked out of the kitchen and over to the Bay Window that is in the living room. We sat down and I saw her fiddling with her hands. 

I looked at her with a questionable look on my face "You mind telling me what that look with Farkle was all about?" 

"Farkle and I have been seeing each other and keeping it on the down-low." she answered. 

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her. I was a little bit hurt that she kept this from me. 

"Honestly, Maya it wasn't meant to hurt you. I know you have had a really hard time over Lucas and we wanted to keep it on the down-low for you. I worried if you saw how happy in love I am with Farkle that it would make you sad." 

I hugged Riley close to me "Awe, you're so sweet Riles. I'm okay now. I promise." 

"Good, peaches." she smiled .

"So tell me. Have you and Farkle gone all the way?" 

"Not all the way."  

"I'm happy for you Riles. I truly am." I replied. 

Riley and I made our way back to the kitchen. We sat down at the table like nothing had happened. I walked over and grabbed a banana off the table. 

"Hey Farkle, you got a condom?" I said causing him to turn around and look at me. 

He rolled his eyes. "Here." he said before throwing it to me.  

I picked up my phone and looked in the call log to see if Lucas had tried calling me yet. When I saw there was no recent calls I went to put it down and didn't realize that I had accidentally tapped on his phone number. 

Lucas POV

After doing everything that needed to be done in the barn, showering and then doing my Homework it was finally 9:00 at night before I actually sat down to FaceTime Maya but her and I were on the same line of thinking of because my phone alerted me to a phone call.

"Hello, beautiful." I answered but she didn't say anything back. "Maya?"

That's when I heard her and some other dude talking. I was immediately starting to get jealous. Why the hell was she was with some other boy when she was supposed to be watching my sister? I should have hung up by I didn't.

"You got a condom?"  I heard her ask and immediately I started wondering who the hell she was talking to.   

"Here". I heard him say. 

"We got to put a condom on it." I heard her say back. She seemed kind of far away now. 

"Hold still Maya." I heard the boy say. 

"Just let me do it Farkle." she replied back to him. 

By this time I was starting to become angry and jealousy was over taking me. I hung up and then called her back but this time I did it on FaceTime. She didn't answer right away and that worried me even more. Maya wouldn't cheat on me would she? I tried calling back again and this time she answered.

"Hey Huckleberry." she said with a big smile. 

"Where in the hell is my sister?" I said anger showing through my voice. 

"She's playing with Auggie. What crawled up your ass and died?" 

"You called me so I answered but then I realized you must have done it on accident. Did I interrupt you and Farkle? I heard you discussing putting a condom on. Wonder what Mom is going to think of that?" 

Maya busted up laughing hysterically and that's when I heard Riley laughing in the background. Maya flipped the camera on and thats when I saw a banana sitting on the counter. 

"Oh Ranger Rick." she giggled "No way in hell would I ever do that with Farkle. We were just goofing around and putting a condom on a banana" 

I immediately felt so much better and I actually kinda of felt bad for thinking Maya would do that to me. 

"Okay well that was awkward then. I just heard you asking Farkle for a condom and you said something about letting you do it. I didn't know what to think." 

"Farkle is with Riley. You have nothing to worry about." she replied. "I love you!" 

"I love you too.  Do you want to FaceTime me later?" he asked. 

"Yeah I'll call you in a bit! I miss you." 

"I miss you too. Tell Farkle I'm sorry." I chuckled. 

"He heard you.  And I like it when you get jealous." she said giving me a grin. 

Maya and I said our Good-Byes and it wasn't until an hour later that she called me back. Riley, Farkle, and Auggie had left. Kenzie was fast asleep which meant it was just me and Maya. We could talk about whatever we wanted to.
