-Chapter 17-

*Jerome's POV

I walked into the living room. The house was quiet and I was the only one awake. The sun was rising, the sky going from black to pink to blue. I sat on the couch and thought of what was needed to be done today. We were running low on food so we needed to hunt and possibly fish. With the four of us hunting, we're sure to get enough for the rest of the week. Should Ty hunt, too? Well, he said himself that he isn't good at hunting. Not to mention, he's in some sort of state of depression. Maybe he should stay home.

I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I turned my head and saw Sierra walk into the kitchen. "G'morning." I greeted.

In response, she tiredly waved back. In a few minutes, she sat on the couch with two cups of milk and handed me one.

"Thanks." I smiled and took a sip of the cold milk. "Did you hear what happened between Sky and Ty?"

Sierra shook her head. "Was it bad?"

"Somewhat. Sky told Ty that he's leaving for a week to give him some space. He built a house in the forest somewhere." I explained, but didn't add a lot of details. If Ty wants her to know, then he'll tell her the rest.

"They broke up?" Sierra looked at me, confused.

I shook my head. "No. They're just spending time away from each other for a few days.

"Oh. Good." Silence. "How are they handling it?"

"I don't know about Sky, but I know Ty is already missing him. Then again, I understand. If I was kept away from Mitch for over a week, I would freak out a bit too." I replied in all honesty.

"I'm going hunting. You wanna join?" Sierra asked, standing up and grabbing the axe off the table.

"Nah. I'm going later. I'll leave after everyone else wakes up so they know where we went." I finished off the milk and walked to the kitchen to clean it.

"Ok. See ya later." Sierra left the house and began climbing trees.

I sat back on the couch and 'rested' my eyes. Well, lets just say I think I fell asleep because when I woke up, a worried looking Mitch was sitting on the couch next to me.

"Hey Mitchy. You ok?" I asked. Mitch shook his head a little. "What's wrong?" I was getting worried.

A tear made its way down Mitch's cheek. "Please don't leave me." He whispered.

I hugged Mitch and he buried his head in my chest. "Why would I ever leave you?"

"Sky left Ty. They loved each other, but he still left." He wiped his eyes before continuing. "I wouldn't be able to live anymore if you left me."

I stared into Mitch's eyes and said, "I would never leave you as long as you don't leave me."

He smiled. "I won't leave."

I heard someone walk down the hallway. Looking up, I saw Rheanna getting food from the kitchen. "Morning." I greeted her.

In return, she waved, her mouth being too full of food to talk. After she finished her food, she grabbed her backpack from the table. "I'm going hunting. See ya."

"Sierra's hunting by the way." I informed. "We're going hunting later also."

"Should I fish or should I hunt? I can do either." She asked.

"Hunt. Maybe later, Mitch and I will fish." I turned back to Mitch. "Sound good?"

Mitch nodded. "Sounds fun. What about Ty?"
