Almost two years ago now I was struggling to come to terms with my sexuality and was in a pretty bad place in my life. Then I started watching Carmilla. At the time it was still a rather small webseries but the impact it had on me was huge. Here were these characters who were confident in who they were as people and didn't let other people tell them what they could and couldn't be. It meant a lot to me to see who these women were be treated as normal and ok. Not only that, but these characters faced a lot of tough stuff but they didn't give up. This show and these characters taught me to accept myself and never give up. Thank you.
