Teardrop

The steady pitter patter of rain on the window pane keeps you at ease. The grey clouds continuously rolling in add to the gloomy, cool day. It's your favourite day. The dull sensation everything gives off. The way the water makes the tree leaves droop. The absence of birds in the air. The calm and quite of the outdoors; besides the steady rhythm of water hitting the ground. You stand in the middle of the downpour with your face to the sky. Your mouth open to catch the small cool droplets on your tongue while the downpour seeps through your skin and clothes, drenching your body to the core. Slowly, you turn in circles and twirl about; dancing in the rain. Your ears strain for the soon to come thunder that already roars in the distance. The squishing and squeaking of your feet in your soaked shoes brings a small smile to your lips and a little hearty laugh. What most would call a horrible, sad day. You call a true dark day for those few who live and thrive among the shadows. One of the few days where those people find happiness in one of its truest forms.
