Time (Newt X Reader Book 6)

- Little Sisters -

Ava was pretty pissed off when i told her i didn't want to do the experiment she wanted me to. She made me feel pretty crap about myself saying how i was failing humanity, well sorry but i trusted my brother more than her. After all she agreed to do all those tests on me ten years ago. 

Breakfast was interesting. Minho sat next to me "so Atticus wants everyone in the same spot at 2 this afternoon OK?" he whispered very close to my ear causing me to shiver. Lucy eyed me from across the table and nudged Newt. "Look see she's cheating on you!" Newt looked up but laughed. "Lucy...stop trying to put me off of her. I've been with her for ten bloody years. stop it" he barked at her, the girl slouched farther into her chair. For a teenager she was certainly immature.

"You are staying with Brenda today" Newt said, Lucy looked up and if looks could kill...

"What?! why?!" she yelled.

"I am going to spend some time with my greenie OK?"

"I hate you" she grumbled but again Newt smiled "Yeah, you too. Come on Greenie"

I pushed back from the table and walked around to take Newt's hand, he led me through the trees to a clearing a beautiful lake spanned for hundreds of meters, i could only just see the shore on the other side on the horizon. "Wow"

"I know" Newt sat down on a blanket that he had laid down earlier, with his back against a tree, i followed but Newt had other ideas. He scooped me up and put me on his lap his chin was gently rested on my shoulder, his lips grazed my ear as he lightly nipped it. it caught me of guard as a moan escaped my mouth without me realizing. He chuckled and we both looked out across the lake, if the ground was sand it would've reminded me of Paradise. I was beginning to doubt whether we'd ever make it back there. In a way i hoped we would but another part of me was quite happy here, this forest was beautiful and full of life even if i couldnt see it. 

"So another one of the guards, his name is Luke but he used to be a General, he's allowed to perform weddings and it be legally binding so i was wondering if maybe...you wanted to" his grip on me loosened as he waited for my response. 

"NO!" A squeaky voice cried out from behind me. Lucy.

"Lucy! Go away. You have no say in this at all so deal with it." Newt growled, he did it in such a way that made my stomach twist and reach out for him. It was a growl i had never heard before, but i wanted him to do it again.

Brenda grabbed the back of her pink hoodie she wore and dragged her away.

"Boy am i glad i dont have a little sister!"

"Well you will if you agree to marry me this evening"

I turned to him quicker than i had ever done anything the wound in my back from the gun ached. "This evening? You want me to marry you?"

"Yes" Newt grinned, his eyes were hopeful as i crushed his lips with mine running my tongue along them, he pulled back slightly "is that a yes?" I kissed him hard again. 

That was answer enough.
