Josie's POV

"Josie, wait!" Landon called after me.

I ignored him and kept walking.

"Josie." Landon said, coming up beside me.

I turned and looked at him. "What do you really want Landon?" I asked coldly.

"I told you. I want you Josie." He replied.

I laughed. "That's funny. We tried that once Landon, and I thought it went fine. But apparently you didn't. That, or Paris was more important than I was." I said.

"It's been ten years Josie! You said that yourself! Don't you think I've changed?" He asked.

I smiled. "Landon, I wouldn't know." I said.

Landon watched me. "Exactly. Can't we start over? Pretend we just met and we don't have any history?" He asked.

I looked down at the ground. "Fine." I said. "On one condition."

Landon smiled. "What's the condition?" He asked.

I smirked. "That you keep Ida away from me." I said.

"Josie?" A voice called out.

I smiled. "Renee! Hey!" I said, giving her a hug.

"It's great to see you! I'm on my way back to the shop but when I saw you I had to say hi." She said.

I giggled. "I'm glad you did. How was your date?" I asked.

Renee blushed. "It went well. From my prospective at least." She stopped smiling.

"What if it went awful on his end? I just realized I talked through the entire date! What if he doesn't like me?"

I smiled and hugged her. "From all he's been raving about you, I'm sure he had a great time. Besides, you always talk a lot. I think he would have assumed you'd do that." I said.

Renee smiled again. "Thanks Josie! You're the best. I'll see you on Sunday?" She asked.

I laughed. "I'll be there." I said, watching as she ran off.

"You know a lot of people in this town." Landon said.

I nodded. "Yeah..." I said, not sure what he was getting at.

"You must visit here often." Landon said.

I frowned. "I live here." I said. "I've lived here for ten years."

"Ida told me you lived with your aunt." Landon said.

"Yeah. No way. This is my home." I said, looking around.

"Huh. Then who were you visiting the other day?" Landon asked.

I frowned again. "You mean the day you came to my apartment?" I asked.

"Your apartment? I thought it was Kenny's apartment." Landon said.

"Yeah. It is. We live together." I said.

Landon frowned. "You have a boyfriend?" He asked.

"Are you jealous?" I asked, avoiding the question.

Landon didn't reply, and I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.

"I hate you." I said, knowing exactly who it was.

"Aww. You're no fun." Kenny said.

I shrugged. "Landon, I have to go. I'll call you." I said, then followed Kenny to the car.
