Chapter 27: Uncomfortable Waiting (Ann's P.O.V.)

My stomach turned as I watched Harry walking away from the car. I had a bad feeling about all of this. Harry's idea wasn't a bad one, but something still felt wrong to me. I opened the passenger door and jumped out of the car, "Harry, please hurry."

He turned and looked at me for a moment before taking off at a run. I stood and watched until he turned the corner and was out of sight. I slipped back into my seat, leaving my legs resting outside the car.

"What's the matter, Ann?" Louis asked.

I just continued to look down the street, "Something doesn't feel right."

I felt a hand on my shoulder, "Don't worry, Harry will take care of everything."

I didn't respond. I didn't want to tell Louis that I didn't think the feeling was coming from Harry or the plan. This bad feeling was coming from something else. Maybe it was because Taylor was probably meeting with Carson alone right now and the last time she was with him like that we found her beaten in an alley.

"Ann," Louis said softly. "Talk to me."

I shook my head at him.

"Ann," he started again. "What is bothering you?"

I shook my head again, but spoke this time, "How can you two be so nice to us? Knowing what we have been doing?"

I felt his hand slide off my shoulder. I was right, it was bothering him. I really couldn't blame him. He and Harry had every right to be mad and disgusted with me after what I had told them.

My thoughts were stopped when I felt Louis's hand return to my shoulder and give it a light squeeze. "I don't care about any of that. You told us how Carson manipulated you two. And how the two of you did have your own rules to keep your dignity."

How could even say that we were doing had dignity at all? We had been selling our bodies to pay off a debt for some rich asshole.

"Harry and I care about the two of you." Louis rested his head against my back. "We just want to know that the two of you are safe."

I felt tears coming to my eyes again. I felt like that was all that I had been doing was crying. I think Louis could tell because wrapped his arms around me, but I forced the tears back.

"Everything will turn out okay," he whispered. "I promise."

Inodded, "Thank you."k&
