We were making our way back to the venue when Joshua pulled me off to the side and kissed me silly. It wasn't until a few of my sister's friends stumbled out of the smoking area that we realised we weren't alone.

It didn't stop him from dipping his tongue inside my mouth a second time with his hands grabbing hold of my waist to tug me closer. We were being indecent with his hand moving towards my butt, completely lost in the moment.

"GO ON, TABITHA, BABES," A drunk friend shouted, the three women falling all over themselves with laughter.

Joshua chuckled along with them, taking my hand to pull us into the warmth of the converted barn holding the wedding reception. "Do you think they'll remember this in the morning?"

I squeezed his hand with a grin, waving at the girls when they made Kissy faces through the window at us. "Probably not. They were hitting the prosecco at ten this morning."

The scent of beef lasagne and freshly baked garlic bread hit us when we stepped inside, the servers laying the food out on the long table decorated with a white silk table cloth and gold-painted fern leaves.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him, squishing into his side when he wrapped an arm around my waist.

His dark green eyes flicked around the room, his head nodding twice when he slanted them over my face. "Yeah, I could eat."

After leading him over to the food table, we fixed a plate of juicy lasagne squares and crisp salad, taking my seat back at the head of the table with him sitting next to me, our knees so close that they ended up brushing together.

The food was outstanding, which I knew it would be considering how delicious the set meal was at first serving earlier on in the day. Joshua made all the right noises beside me, surprising me with a tomato-drenched kiss when he caught me staring.

I giggled into it, wiping the edges of his mouth with my finger without thinking. I pulled my hand away as soon as I did, noticing his forehead tensing up and then Hanna strolling over to our table. "Prepare yourself, my sister is coming over here."

Not at all dazed, he put his fork down to stand up and greet Hanna with a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. They chatted for a while, not minding my confused expression until he lowered back in the seat to grab my hand underneath the table.

Hanna turned her attention onto me. "Can I grab you real quick, sis?"

I used the napkin beside my plate to make sure my mouth was clean and followed her. We ended up far enough away from Joshua that he wouldn't hear us, but close enough for him to keep flicking his gaze our way every few minutes.

"I hope you're not mad I invited him here," she whispered, eyebrows slanting down.

"I'm not mad." I told her.

She grinned. "That's such good news. It looks like you're working things out?"

"I know that he's sorry, and I know that I need to say sorry too. It's a start," I replied.

She tucked her wild locks behind her ears and leaned in closer. Face shining with wonder. "Gosh, today is just filled with joy, isn't it?"

I was about to answer her back when Becky came over here with a wineglass full of white wine. "Ohmigod! That's your hot boyfriend over there. Did you guys talk it out?"

For all of her outlandishness, Becky had really shown me incredible kindness in her funny text messages. I especially loved her GIF game because that woman could find the perfect video for your every mood.

I nodded. "Yeah, he came here to surprise me."

She sipped on her wine with wide eyes. "Babes, no way. I'm so pleased for you. Are you happy?"
