There is always a move or school change in the beginning of the story.

Example: "Welcome to your new home," Mom said. I looked around the house, not enjoying my experience.

Why This Is Annoying: Okay, I get it, new story, new atmosphere, you can introduce the characters to us at the same time as the main. But really? "You HAVE to move," or "welcome to your new home"? This is super cliché.

HOW TO FIX THIS: Maybe when the character is starting to have a great life why don't the mom or dad lose their job in the middle of the story and is making them move. Then the person has to leave and they say goodbye to everyone. Or you can do something else. You're the author it is totally up to you.
