Example: I was holding my BFF's hand. A little girl went up to us. "You are a cute couple," she smiled. "We are NOT a couple. Kids are so stupid," I said and kissed him.
Why This Is Annoying: Why? I'm pretty sure best friends don't kiss or hold hands unless if they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Or girlfriend and girlfriend. Or boyfriend and boyfriend. Or genderfluid and boyfriend/girlfriend.
How To Fix This: Just no. If you want the 'best friends' to be couples then let them be couples. What is the matter with your best friend being your true love? Is it a crime? NO, DUH! I hope there are some best friend couples in books ^-^. They are so cute tbh. No matter what sexuality.
