CHAPTER FIFTEEN |

Rhea was on the verge of losing control completely, she had stumbled onto an empty street— her distressed state causing her magic to go into overdrive. She couldn't be around people at that moment in time, she was a danger. The streetlights blew one by one as she passed them, trying to navigate her way to her apartment as well as stopping herself from levelling the city. She couldn't recall a time she had felt as anxious as she did in that very moment.

She was still struggling to believe that she had actually seen her mother, she tried to convince herself that it was a figment of her imagination— the stress of the last few weeks added with lack of sleep had made her hallucinate and see the women who birthed her. Somehow, she knew she was being naive.

She let out a loud yell, and the windows of a nearby car smashed into smithereens. The sound something one could only describe as horrific.

A hand clamped down on her shoulder and for one split second, she believed it may be the one person who left a hole in her heart since he had died for the second time. Fortunately for her, the person who came to her aid was just as important.

"Rhea," Ares breathed out, "I've been looking everywhere for you."

She turned to her older brother, studying his features, it seemed like a lifetime since the last time she saw him, and their last conversation had been less than pleasant.

Ares took note of the look on his baby sisters face and knew the cause of her troubles, "You've seen her too, haven't you?"

Rhea's eyes flew up to his, the sudden realisation that it absolutely wasn't a hallucination shook her to her core.

"You've seen her?" She asked, not prepared for Ares' reply.

"A few times, now. It wasn't until she tried to approach me today, that I realised it wasn't some crazy hallucination and that the psycho bitch is actually real." He stated, not hiding his distaste for his birth mother, he truly despised the woman— blood relation or not.

"What's she doing here, Ares? Scratch that. How is she here?" She questioned. The dumbfounded look on Ares' face told her that he was just as confused as she was.

"I don't know, Rhe. Whatever it is, it can't be good. We should inform Klaus." Rhea shook her head immediately.

"The Mikaelsons have enough going on right now, whether or not the sudden appearance of our mother is connected to that. We're on our own on this one." She sighed, realistically, they should inform the Mikaelsons of their current dilemma. Rhea just didn't want them to get caught up in one of their mothers games— especially when they all have so much to lose.
