"Behave for great grandpa. Don't give him too much trouble."

"Okay mommy." Peter said.

"You know, you could visit more often."

"We really should. I've been so busy with the kids and work-"

"Ariel, it's okay. I used to have a life, remember?"

"Right." I smiled.

"Ariel, we gotta go." Alan said.

"Gotcha. I'll see you later grandpa."

As Alan and I walked to the Sandlot, we could see the others getting there.

"Long time no see losers." I smiled.

"Not our fault you moved like 5 hours away."

"Three." Alan corrected.

"And you still haven't invited us over." Ham said.

"Once the baby comes and we get more settled. Alan got the house all messy."

"Me? You come home from work and just throw your stuff everywhere."

"You wanna carry a child inside of you, and work 3 jobs, while taking care of a family?"

"No ma'am." He laughed.

"That's what I thought."

"Alright. We brought the wood. Happy now?" Benny asked.

"Much. Thanks Benny." September said, kissing his cheek.

"Grooossss." I laughed.

"Did anyone bring s'more stuff?" Ham asked.

"Why do we need some more stuff?" Smalls asked.

"No. S'more stuff."

"We have everything here! What more do we need?"

"You're killin me Smalls!"

"I'm just joking." Smalls laughed, pulling out the marshmallows.

"So does anyone have a plan for tonight, or are we just sitting around a fire talking?"

"We could play some ball." Ham suggested.

"Yeah. One last game on the Sandlot." (A/N I'm crying)

"I'll sit out this one. Can't play baseball with a child in your belly, almost ready to come out."

"We'll sit out too. Let the guys play one more game with each other."

"We need one more. Bertram-"

"I could fill his spot. I know I'm not the best, but I could still work." Phillips said, walking up to us with Emma.

The boys huddled together and talked.

"Alright Phillips. You can join us."

I smiled, knowing that the boys had finally set their differences and past behind.

"So Ariel," Emma started, "did it hurt? Giving birth?"

"Why are you- are you pregnant?"

"Maybe." She smiled.

Us girls squealed.

"That's amazing Emma!"

"Phillips and I decided to tell you guys today. We've known for a few weeks now."

I turned to look at the boys.

"I don't want to go to sleep tonight."

"Why not?" Ella asked.

"Because once I wake up, this will all be gone tomorrow."

"No it won't. We'll still have each other. Yeah we won't be living by each other, but we'll still see each other. Our memories won't go away."

A little bit later, the boys turned to us, asking what inning it was.

"You guys have played like 15. We didn't want you guys to have a set end to the fun."

The boys laughed and came to sit with us by the fire.

It had begun to get dark, and the air had gone colder.

"S'more time!"

Ham did the honor of making us all the best s'mores we had ever had.

We all just sat their, talking , laughing, enjoying each other's company.

I looked around, and just like on the night before my wedding, I saw everyone as their younger selves. Maybe this proved that, just like Alan, I didn't want to grow up. I didn't want to let go of this part of my life.

"September and I bought a house." Benny announced.

"And we're getting married." Tember said, smiling.

"Congratulations."

"Well if everyone is announcing things, Smalls and I are also engaged." Brielle said, holding up her hand.

"I'm pregnant." Ella said.

"Same!" Emma smiled.

"Wow. We really are growing up." Alan said.

"Maybe that's not a bad thing. Maybe growing up won't be that bad."

"Maybe. But I just don't want tonight to end."

A few more hours passed. All we did was sit around the fire and just have fun

"Guys, it's getting late. I think we're gonna have to go." Ella said.

"Party poopers!"

"They aren't the only ones. Ariel and I should probably get the kids and head home. We still have a 3 hour drive."

We all got up, and looked at each other.

"Get in you guys."

We got in for a group hug, which felt like it lasted for hours.

When everyone turned to go, I remembered something we forgot to do.

"One last thing." I said, pulling out a knife.

"Woah Ariel! Watch where you point that thing!"

"I'm not gonna kill you guys, calm down. I had an idea."

"Which is?" Brielle asked.

"We could maybe carve our names in the Sandlot. I know it's run down and everything, but it would be kinda cool."

"Yeah-Yeah, I second that idea." Alan said, grabbing the knife from me.

We each took a turn carving our names into the Sandlot.

I finished, with carving Forever young. Never forget. under it.

I looked down at our masterpiece, then back at everyone.

I knew that, even though our bodies would be gone from this place, our hearts would stay here, forever.
