Chapter 2

Jaye

“Alright young man enough looking and get to driving, these ladies have to be home one time,” Willy said and I nodded my head looking into the mirror at the girl who blushed her whole way to her seat.

She caught my eye; I don’t understand why she was out her this late anyways though.

I started to drive literally passing each and every stop due to the fact that no one was out at the time and it was only the two girls in the bus.

“So Willy why you aint driving tonight?” one of the girls asked, she sported two dimple piercings in her cheeks.

“Well they have your favorite driver retiring, so I’m teaching young blood here how to drive around the streets at this time.”

Yeah I was taking the graveyard shift, if I was going to make it as a successful rapper; I was going to get the paper up to pay for everything. So far the money was right and if I kept it up I was going to have my song be a banger in every dance club and strip club. I wasn’t going to go around and sell drugs for it, I already spent five years for it, and I might as well do it the right way.

“Jaye these are my favorite girls in the world Casidee and Amina my only passengers late at night, they keep me up on these roads.” He said. Well damn I understand why, these were beautiful women, “Casidee and Amina this is Jaye, your new driver.” He introduced and I nodded my head.

“Willy I’m going to miss you, I have to go and find a nice retirement gift for you,” Amina frowned and he smiled.

“Wait who is going to walk us home because you know late at this time in the city is no joke Willy.” Casidee complained and Willy and Amina started laughing shaking their heads.

“Don’t worry I’ll have young blood walk you guys all the way to the door.” I raised my brow and looked at him. I know that this wasn’t in my job description to walk women to their doors and I wasn’t really trying to do that.

Around forty five minutes later we ended up at the very last stop which was also on the same block as the little condo that I shared with my cousin Ant.

“Well ladies here is your stop,” he looked at the clipboard, “And Jaye you live on this block too, so how about you walk the ladies home and get some rest for tomorrow, I’ll get the bus back to the station.” I nodded my head giving him a handshake.

“Aw I’m going to miss you Willy!” Casidee gave him the tightest hug and Amina followed after.

“I’m really going to miss you for real, make sure you come and visit. You know where we live.”

“Alright, be safe now.”

I looked down at Amina’s things and quickly picked them up, helping her out of the bus.

“Thank you.” She smiled blushing again like last time.

“Just being a gentleman that’s all.” I smiled and she cracked a smile putting her head down and walked ahead of me.

“Well we need more men like you out here because this world is all fucked up,” Casidee chimed in and I chuckled.

“So where you live since Willy left you out here in the damn hood.” Amina asked and I pointed over at the clovers apartments and burst out laughing, “Me too just never seen you around and I kind of talk to every person.” She said and I smiled.

“I’m never home and also you must have talked to my cousin Ant.” I asked and her eyes widened.

“Antwon Ant?” she asked and I nodded my head, “That boy is on a whole nother planet, all the times I have talked to him he has never mention you.”

“Kind of a nobody out here.”

“Don’t say that, nobody is a somebody to God.” she commented and I looked at her and nodded my head.

“Hey listen to Amina now the girl is always right homeboy.” Casidee said stopping at her door then gave Amina a hug, “So are you working tomorrow?”

“No thank God, I have a wedding to plan around so I need personal time to myself.” She said and Casidee frowned.

“Well okay, I guess I will be taking the car tomorrow night. Jamol ass is on the bus tomorrow night.” They both laughed as she made her way into her apartment, “Nice to meet you Jaye.” She smiled then I cracked a smile and she closed the door.

“So you’re a wedding planner?” I asked slowly walking beside her.

“By day,” she answered and sifted her fingers through her hair pulling it back revealing these beautiful brown eyes.

“And by night?”

She turned to me and raised her brow, “do I ask what you do by day?”

“Well I am a rapper by day, really aint there yet from the looks of this uniform, but I got faith in myself.”

She smiled and we finally got to the door and she turned to me, “Well when you got the time how about you hand me your mix tape, I’m always open to new music.”

I smiled, “Really?”

“If it doesn’t suck then I’ll consider it,” she giggled then unlocked her door and I handed her things and she smiled, “Jaye right?”

I nodded by my head and she slowly smiled, “Goodnight Amina.”

“Goodnight.”

She walked behind the door and I just stood there speechless, this girl was literally brang down by the goddesses it was so unreal.

I walked up the steps to the second floor and took out my keys jamming it into the lock and turning it immediately being greeted to the smell of some heavy loud. I looked over and saw Ant just chilling on the couch straight drinking out of the peach ciroc bottle that I had brought for me.

“Nigga!” I said slamming the door and walking over to him snatching the bottle from his hand.

“Ay man, can a nigga smoke weed and drink on his night off?” he slowly said picking up the blunt and hitting it again.

“No nigga, you was supposed to put in the reservation for the studio!” I put the top on the bottle and sat it on the counter beside me.

“Man you think that takes forever, I did that early yesterday afternoon so step nigga. How your bus driver job doing? You aint uppercut a bitch yet?” he joked and started laughing.

“Haha no bitch, actually I only got two passengers and both of them know your name and live in the same building as us.” I walked over and sat next to him and picked up the blunt, held it to my lips and took a deep pull inhaling all of the loud that I can get.

“Damn nigga save some! But who? Casidee and Amina?” he asked and I nodded my head slowly being taken away to another world.

“Yeah.” I slowly said my lungs still full of loud.

“Man now those are some fine ass women, now Amina is a nice girl so I would stay far away from her cause she aint the one to fuck with. She’s a smart one and she’s trying the hardest more than anyone to get the fuck out the hood believe that.” he explained and I nodded my head.

I guess Amina was strong minded woman who believed in her dreams no wonder she accepted my mix tape.

“She’s real unlike your ugly ass girl who keeps on calling this damn house like a mad woman.” He said and I shook my head.

“She aint ugly bruh.” I rummaged through my CD’s trying to look for my mix tape until I finally found one and ran out the door heading back down to her apartment once I got there I lifted up my fist to knock but I could hear the Anthony Hamilton ‘Her Heart’ playing, this girl really had taste in music, I just hope that she loved my music.

I pushed my CD through the mail hole and walked back to my apartment, I knew she was going to like it anyways.
