XXXI. MENARCH OF A DOWNFALL

WINTER's POV

I watched the scenery outside this glass wall while savouring the taste and warmth of my favourite cocoa drink. We're back from the escapade and I can tell that the whole mafia organization is quite silent. And, I can't determine whether it's a bad or good thing. You can never turn your guards down just because no one's making any moves. You should be more careful at times like this because silence is a sign of war. Isang nagbabadyang gulo ang ibig sabihin ng pananhimik ng nagkabilang grupo. So far, wala pa namang iniuutos sa amin si kuya Nathan kaya naman sa tingin ko ay nagpapahinga ang parehong panig ngayong pasko. Maybe the devils still have hearts for christmas and decided to spend it with their families.

As the sunsets, the sky turned orange in the horizon, filling the whole town with Christmas spirit. I wanted to spend my Christmas in Baguio but, as I've said, you can never let your guards down. We have more important business than Christmas so... Not now. Nasa England naman ang mga magulang ko kaya I have no one to spend Christmas with. Uuwi na lamang siguro ako sa bahay at ipagdiriwang ang pasko with Nanay Helen, who raised me up lalo na nung mga panahon na busy ang mga magulang ko sa business nila. Kailan ba ang huling pasko na nakasama ko ang mga magulang ko? Siguro nung 3 years old pa ako. Kaya, sanay na ako. They will just call me and greet me a Merry Christmas.

I took a bite on my Apple and Cream crepe and I let the flavours explode in my mouth. I closed my eyes and savour the moment. Maya maya pa ay naramdaman ko ang pagva'vibrate ng aking telepono at atubili ko naman itong tinignan. Kumuha ulit ako ng crepe as I read the message pero halos mabitawan ko ang cellphone ko at agad agad na kinuha ang bag ko upang umalis. Damn! This isn't good! Paano nangyari toh?! This is way too impossible to happen! Fvck fvck fvck!

With my trembling hands and heart beating fast, I gathered all my strength to push the key inside the key hole on my motorcycle and turned the engine on. Without any safety gear, I sped down the road with my heart racing with me. Sinasabi ko na nga ba eh! Hindi maganda ang pananahimik ng bawat panig. Sa maikling panahon na yun, they've managed to plan for this?! Ghad damn it those people! Urgh!

As fast as I could, I raced myself out to reach the Stallworthy's mansion. There were guards on patrol kahit na 15 km pa lamang ang layo ng mansion. This is to alert every living member of the Black Sovereign that there's a chaos. Pero, hindi ko talaga inaasahan na mangyayari ito. Nevet in my life did I imagine this to ever happen. The opposing side must be rejoicing because of what they've done. Pagkarating ko sa harapan ng pintuan ay agad agad akobg bumaba ng motor at inihagis ang susi sa isang lalaki. Tumakbo ako papunta sa dining hall kung saan natipon ang mga members. Pagpasok ko sa hall ay tahimik ang lahat... Inilibot ko ang pabingin ko at nakita ko ang dalawang bakanteng upuan... Isa para sa akin at isa para sa kanya. Kaya kung susumahin, ako lang pala ang hinihintay.

Umupo na ako sa upuan sa tabi ni Maxwell at napatingin sa kaharap kobg upuan where she's supposed to be seating right now but she's not there. Naikuyom ko na lamang ang aking mga kamao at napahibga ng malalim. That's it... They declared a war... And we'll happily give it to them. Siguraduhin labg nilang masasatisfy kami sa gagawin nila. Kundi... Mapapatay ko sila ng maaga. I will decide their deaths. Napatingin ako kay kuya Renzo and he seemed calm kagaya ng itsura ni kuya Nathan na ikinabahala ko. The word 'CALM' with these creatures means 'DEATH' ans I can see it radiating through their eyes. They want to kill. Maya maya pa ay nagsalita na si Kuya Nathan about this chaos.

"Black Sovereign... The White Blue Assembly declared a war... And we are happy to announce that all living mafia members should dedicate their lives in this historic catastrophe" he said... Walang sunuman ang nagsalita at lahat ay nakikinig lamaag sa mga sinasabi niya.

Autumn Lancaster" nagsimulan namang magbulung-bulungan ang mga nasa bulwagan. Napapikit na lamabg ako ng mariin. Ano ba naman kasi ang nangyari? Did Autumn enter a dangerous situation again?
