Chapter 23

Three Years Later...

My life is nothing but a tragedy..ever since he said those words and took off, it left me lost..confused..

I failed in my studies..

I failed in everything..my life isn't so perfect anymore, being a single mother.. living in an apartment far away from my parents' home..

I thought I could of handle it but I can't deal with my depression anymore..

At times I want to die.. but I can't..

I live for only one person and that's my daughter..

"Lucy are you working today?" Layla asked the blonde who was busy watching out the window, sighing. "No..I'm about to head home in my apartment in a little while.." she turned to her mother and smiled at the baby in Layla's arms. "She woke up?" "Yip, she's one happy little girl" Layla smiled, bouncing the baby who was playing with a toy.

"You know she can walk right?" "I know..but I just like holding her.." Layla giggled, turning to her grand daughter in her arms.

"You love me Nashi?" the child nodded and Lucy smiled at them before she returned to looking out the window. "I'm going to give her something to eat first okay" Lucy nodded, observing the blue sky. Layla looked at her daughter, giving her a worried look "Honey, are you okay?"

"Never been better.." Lucy whispered, closing her eyes. "You know..if you're depressed again I can always call the-" "I'm fine mom, it's alright.." Lucy turned to Layla and gave her a smile and behind that smile, Layla could see pain.

"I'm making you breakfast.." with that her mother walked out the room with her child, leaving Lucy alone in the room. Lucy looked down at her wrists, watching the scars. She used to cut herself when she was depressed but stopped due to the help of her psychiatrist but her depression didn't stop though.

She ruined her life..

Her eyes started getting teary as she continued to stare at her wrists. She knelt down on the floor and started crying, blocking her face in shame and guilt.

She tried searching for the man who caused it all to tell him it's a girl but...he was gone...

Erza and Jellal got married and moved far away, along with Levy and Gajeel..

And Juvia and Gray, they were no where to be found, everyone just split up after they all graduated high shool

Leaving her all alone..

Sad and depressed.. but they still called her though except..

Natsu..

She continued crying...all alone..in the dark room..

"Okay mom..dad, it's time Nashi and I get going.." Lucy whispered, walking into the kitchen and taking her baby from Layla's arms and putting her to stand on the floor. "But I don't want to go.." Nashi pouted. "Sorry Nashi but we have to and you have school tomorrow..now get your bag.." "Here it is.." Jude hand his grand daughter a little bag and Nashi took it from him.

"Thank you" the child said and Jude smiled "You're welcome, see you next week okay?" Nashi nodded "Come on Nashi, let me get one more hug before you go.." she ran towards Layla who picked her up from the floor, hugging her close. "I'll call you tonight okay?" "Okay" they broke part and she put her stand up again.

Layla turned to her daughter and spread her arms for a hug "You too Lucy" Lucy smiled, walking towards her and giving her a hug "Take care okay, call me tonight.." Layla whispered and Lucy nodded. She placed a kiss on her cheek before she backed away. Lucy turned to Jude and smiled, picking up her car keys.

"Bye dad" "Bye sweety"

"Alright.." Lucy whispered, strapping her daughter up in her seat before she closed the door and made the rounds around her car, getting into the driver's seat.

"Bye!" Layla waved, standing by the door with her husband. Lucy turned to them and gave them all a smile before she entered the car, closing the door. "You okay back there?" Lucy asked, turning to her daughter who was opening a bag of chips. "Yeah" Nashi said "Good.." she turned forward and started up the engine.

"Can we go visit daddy's grandma before we go home?" Nashi asked when the car started driving. "You mean Grandine?" Nashi nodded "Yeah!" Lucy chuckled "Okay...we'll pay your other grandma a visit before we head home" "Yay, and can we eat burger?" "No Nashi, mummy's gonna cook when we reach home"

"Awe.." she opened the snack and put a chip in her little mouth. "Mm..." she hummed while her mother drove on the road then she asked a question which caught her mother off guard.

"Is daddy going to be there?''

"Uh..I'm not sure Nashi.." "Oh..." Nashi pouted. During the years Lucy managed to tell her about her father, she showed her pictures of him, told her funny stories about him and..Nashi thinks that they're both together but Lucy lied and said her father was always out on work.

At times Nashi would save her left overs and keep them on the plate for her father, she always waited on him to come home but..

Natsu wasn't coming back, he don't even know his own daughter!
