Kylie's POV::

"Finally it's Friday!" Amie said as she walked up to my locker.

"I know right. I can't wait to go home and--" I stopped in mid sentence after realizing that I didn't have a home anymore.

"And what?" Amie asked.

"Oh. I uh, lost my train of thought. What are you doing this weekend?" I asked her, trying to change the subject.

"Well, I'm supposed to be going on a date with Matt," she said and smiled.

"Matt that sits with us at lunch? Tall. hot, basketball star Matt?" I asked as the unbelievability hit me. "How could you keep that a secret for so long!" I squealed and hit her on the arm.

She laughed. "I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure!"

"Mhm. Matt and Amie, I guess it has a ring to it," I cooed.

She just blushed as he walked up to us.

"Hey Ky," he said to me but was staring directly at her.

"Hi Amie," he said next.

"Hi Matt," she said back as they both smiled at each other. They were completely googly eyed and if I didn't love them both, I'd think that they were adorably disgusting.

Like really, they were such preschoolers. Just make out already!

I slowly became a third wheel as Amie pried for information that Matt withheld regarding their date.

That was until I saw a familiar tan, muscular physique with blondish hair a little further down the hall.

"I'll see you guys later," I said and patted Matt on the back as I left.

Levi smiled as he saw me approaching him, and when I finally did reach him, we shared a kiss.

After a few seconds I pulled away, but of course he pulled me back in, caressing my face.

I flinched a little because that was the same spot where my dad had hit me earlier today. Sure, I could cover the bruise with foundation makeup, but how could I hide the pain?

He looked a little confused. "What's wrong?" He asked me.

"Nothing," I said. I hated lying to him but like I said before, what could Levi do when it came to my father. "I have to go to class."

"Wait Kylie," he said.

"Everything's fine, I promise. I'll see you at lunch okay?" I said and smiled before walking off to my first class.

That was too close.

::Levi's POV::

Why was Kylie acting so strange when I touched her face? Something was up with her, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I trusted her to tell me if something was bothering her, but then again, maybe I'm just overreacting. She said everything was fine so I guess I'd have to just trust her on that.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when the bell rang. That's when I looked up and saw two girls whispering to each other . They had disapproving looks on their faces as they watched Kylie walk down the hall, but when I looked at them, their frowns quickly turned into flirtatious smiles.

They must've saw Kylie and I kiss. I'd almost forgotten that the school really didn't know about us. It's not like I'd put our relationship in the monthly newsletter for December. It had totally slipped my mind. As long as people knew Kylie was mine, I didn't care.

"Hi Levi," they both said in unison. One girl even flipped her hair. Was that supposed to be appealing?

"Ladies," I said before heading off to my first class.

::Kylie's POV::

I was only in my fourth period and the day was going by entirely too slow. Ugh! I couldn't take this. Who even invented school? Who could really tell a child that they needed to go to school for them to become what they wanted? School trapped children and killed their creativity and to me, that was a severe crime. Either way, we were still forced to go. What a pity.

I looked out of the window, completely bored with my teacher's lecture, and something surprisingly caught my eye. Not even something, but someone. They were making out with one of the varsity cheerleaders in the student parking lot.

I tried to zoom in to the person's face, but my eyes wouldn't let me make out their features. Even so, I knew everyone at this school and I couldn't recognize this person at all. I could only see what they were wearing. Dark jeans, black shirt and a leather jacket. Oh wow. He was obviously another stereotypical 'bad boy.' I wondered where his matching motorcycle was. I tutted and focused back on the teacher.

Slowly, my mind drifted back to the mysterious stranger and I couldn't help but look at him again. I studied the person's physique and it reminded me of Levi's a little bit. I squinted my eyes but that just made my vision ever blurrier. I was dying to know who this person was at this point. My curiosity had devoured my entire mind in a short few minutes.

Who was this guy? And why did he seem so familiar. Why wasn't he in class? Did he even go here?

"Uhm, Mr. Miller?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said while still staring at his computer screen, clicking the next slide in his PowerPoint presentation.

"May I go to the rest--" I cut myself off mid-sentence as I realized he wasn't paying any attention to me. He'd already continued in his lecture.

I quickly gathered my things and walked out of class. I was almost to one of the exits that led to the parking lot when..

"Ms. Santiago?" I heard Dr. McDowell's voice say.

Dr. McDowell was an administrator that preyed on young souls seeking escape of this retched hell hole. He caught everyone. From skippers to dress code violators, no one was safe from his inevitable wrath.

"Shit," I mumbled to myself. I turned around and put on a big smile.

"Dr. McDowellllllllllll," I said with a fake enthusiasm that almost disgusted myself. "I was just heading to your office."

"For what?" He asked bluntly.

"Uhm," I tried to think of a lie. "I'm having trouble with peer pressure."

"Where's your pass?" He asked.

I searched through my pockets even though I knew nothing was there.

I snapped my finger. "Darn, I must've left it in the bathroom."

"Go back to class," he said and walked pass me.

"Ugh," I mumbled and went back to Mr. Miller's classroom. When I settled back into my seat, I searched though the window into the parking lot but the mystery guy was gone.
