"Can we leave?"

Stella whipped around, grabbing me by my arms in relief. "Where the fuck were you?" she yelled, staring at me with wide eyes.

Ben came up behind her and walked around to me, putting his hand on my back. "You had her going crazy, Vee," he chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood.

I shrugged, watching him carefully. "When'd you get here?"

He was caught off guard by my question and he stammered to answer.

"I, uh - El told me, and erm -"

"I asked him to come. Anyway, where were you for so long?" Stella saved him, her eyes drifting from Ben's to mine.

"It doesn't matter, okay? I'm really tired and I wanna go home."

Stella glanced over at Ben, and they communicated with their eyes once again. I groaned, shaking my head in disbelief before turning on my heel and walking away.

"Vee!" Stella called, but I created some distance between us before I turned around to face them.

"You knew about him, didn't you?" I demanded, watching her shoulders sink. I took her silence as a sign to continue. "Well he came. And I don't want to talk to him anymore. Just leave me alone. Both of you."

I took in Stella's upset expression before I turned around on my heel and continued to walk away from them. To my dismay, Ben jogged up beside me, grabbing my arm to stop me.

"Vee, c'mon, she was just trying to help," he reasoned, stopping me from going any further.

I scoffed, glazing my eyes over the bunches of people laughing and talking, playing the carnival games I hadn't even had the chance to try. My jaw clenched as I tried to contain my anger. I swiftly brushed Ben's hand off my arm and stared up at him coldly.

"I'm fed up, Ben," I told him truthfully. "I'm done - with everyone and with everything. I want to be alone. I know you guys just want to be here for me, but you just don't get it."

He gnawed on his lip, staring down at me. "So that's it? You don't want us around anymore?"

I shook my head, fighting off a smile. "No, you idiot," I rolled my eyes at him. "I just need my space, Ben. I just feel like... Like I need to start thinking more like a mom. I'm putting my baby first."

I could tell that he was suppressing a smile. "Alright, mommy. Let me give you a ride home."

I twisted my mouth to the side, debating on taking up his offer.

"What about El?"

He nodded behind him. "She already left. I told her to go ahead."

I eyed him carefully. "And what about Colt?"

He didn't say anything, but led me out to where he parked his car. We walked in silence, and he opened up the passenger door for me.

"Thanks," I said softly, shivering the slightest from the chilly breeze in the air.

He nodded and went around to his side, sliding in and starting the car. He pulled out of the parking lot and I immediately turned to look out the window, watching the scenery unfold in front of me.

London was a beautiful city, especially at night when there was a dim hue from the streetlights there was the rare absence of rain. Ever since the first time I came here, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I wanted to get married to the man I loved and move here.

I always thought that if I had children, they'd have a mixed accent. Partly North American, partly British. They'd be little fair skin babies with dark hair and vibrant colored eyes... Simply beautiful.
