"hello?" i say into the phone
"hey bub, how are you?" he asks
"good" i lie "yourself?"
"yeh good"
"how's the tour?" i ask
"it's been really fun, i've missed being on stage and performing" he tells me
"that's good" is all i can manage to say
"listen Mez, i'm really sorry i haven't spoken to you in a while, we've just been rehears–"
"it's fine Chris" i cut him off
"are you sure? You sound a little quiet?"
"i'm sure." is all i can manage
At this point, i really wanted to tell him but i know that it would be the wrong decision
"hey, so i have a surprise for you"
"Chris you know i hate surprises" i tell him
"i know, i know but trust me babe this ones really good"
"okay what is it then?" i ask
Truthfully, i don't want to know what the surprise is because i really hate surprises and i know that something could change for us. I mean yeah, i have things on my mind too, I'm pregnant for fuck sakes, could anything get any worse
"so i talked to David and he's letting you girls come up with us on tour!" he says excitedly
"that's great Chris" i lie
I guess it will be easier to tell him, face to face.
a part of me wants to see him but the other part doesn't
I'm just scared that he might freak out and leave with no explanation whatsoever
"whens the flight??" i ask
"tomorrow night, David already sent you the tickets so you don't have to worry about flights and accommodation"
"alright cool, well i guess I'll seen you soon then"
"cant wait babe, bye"
~ end of call ~
"soo?? What happened?" Shelby asks
I tell her that David is letting us come on the rest of the tour with the boys and she freaked
"OMG REALLY" is all that she can manage to say
"yeh..." i sigh
"don't you wanna go??" She asks with a concerned look on her face
"no, of course i wanna go it's just, .... I don't think i'm ready to tell him yet"
"it'll be fine Mez, i'm here if you need anything okay" she comforts me
"thank you"
