Third person POV:
In 2 days Luna turned 16 in today she was going to have to explain to her two best friends, who had no idea about her life truly, why she was leaving and why they wouldn't be able to keep in contact with her. Gabby and Jess, twin sisters, who had no idea about what Luna was about to tell them, she wasn't going to tell them the truth she wasn't allowed to, she wanted to so badly. But she had to lie. She walked into school up to the two girls. "Heyyy Luna your birthday in two days not look so glum," Jessica nudged her.
"Yeah!" Gabby agreed, "what's up by the way?"
"Oh nothing much I just have to tell you guys something," she took a breath, "really important."
"Oh ok, well tell," Jess said sort of excited sort of not.
"I have to leave," Luna blurted out.
"What when, why!?" Gabby said stopping them.
"I leave in two days, and I don't come back," Luna said sadly and hoped dearly that they wouldn't say that they would still keep in contact.
"In two days! But that's your birthday!" Jess said extremely saddened by the news.
"You said you were going to have a party and everything!" Gabby said tears forming in her eyes.
"I know, I know. It's a thing that..." Luna hesitated. "Came up recently."
"We will still talk to each other right then when you can come back you will," Jess said in distress. Luna took a deep breath feeling the tears forming in her eyes the biggest lie she will ever tells these two girls, her two best friends and it had to be when she was leaving them and it had to be the one lie she had to tell because the truth was too unbelievable. "I'm sorry but we can't, once I leave I'm gone you won't be able to find me," that much was true.
"Why!? Luna please," Gabby said holding Luna's shoulders. Here comes the lie.
"My parents, remember how I said they kinda had like a second life. Well I kind of got dragged into it and now I have to go 'undercover' change my name, hair everything. I can't contact any of my previous friends I'm not even really supposed to be telling you this."
"Oh my god Luna why did you say this sooner," the two girls hugged Luna tightly.
"Because I only found out about it this Monday and it was really hard to tell you, I couldn't do it until now." Lies, lies and more lies. Luna knew she had to leave when she was 16 ever since she could understand words. In true fact Luna was known as a sorcerer, so we're her parents. They could bend the elements, fire, water, earth and air. Luna had to learn these things but it wasn't safe to learn them in the 'human' world she had to go to the world of magic. But it was taken over by an entity known as the Darkness so no one under 16 could go there as their minds could be corrupted too easily. Especially when Luna was as she was. Her grandfather was once a student to the Darkness he is once again it didn't last long but long enough to have her father who is nothing like him. Luna's parents believed that because she was far enough away from her grandfather that she was safe from the Darkness but she was in fact closer than her father, almost as if it skipped a generation. "Luna, we are going to miss you," Gabby said.
"Let's make these last few days count, I say tomorrow we ditch school. Obviously telling our parents that Luna has to go and we want to spend our last days with her before she leaves," Jess suggested.
"I say we ditch school now, don't even worry about it. You can explain to your parents later," Luna said beginning to walk to the school gate she just walked in.
"Luna no we can't, we are here now may as well stay," Gabby said. She was a bit of a goody two shoes nerdy girl.
"And since when have you wanted to ditch school last time you went out because of your grandfather dying you said you felt guilty and wanted to go back," Jess said. Luna winced her grandfather wasn't dead at the time, he is now. It was because her two sorcerer best friends went over to the other world when they were 12 and 13 (4 years ago) much too early and they went missing and their families found dead. The elders wanted to speak with Luna because she knew the two but that meant her going over for an hour which even in that was dangerous so they had to choose a time when the Darkness's power was not as strong and because the meeting was so abrupt she had to think of a good enough excuse and it happened to be her grandfather dying.

Luna looked back at her two friends and felt a sudden urge to be rebellious to do evil. "Who the fuck cares plus the bell hasn't gone yet. It will be one day for you guys but I won't be coming back it won't matter for me," she said. The two girls looked at her with disbelief.
"Luna we can't just.." Jess was cut off.
"If you guys won't come then I'm going on my own. Fuck school I won't be coming back and two days won't make a difference.
"Sorry Luna for us it kinda will. We can hang tomorrow when we have a valid reason ok," Gabby said. Luna nodded understanding and walked out the gates. She was across the street and saw her two friends wave at her. The school bell rang and they disappeared with the rest of the sea of people. Luna went home first dropping off all her books that were weighing her bag down then she grabbed the small spell book her parents gave her and headed into the woodlands near her house to practice a few things in peace.

Half way through the day she got a very angry text from her mum telling her to get back to school to not make things look suspicious. Luna simply ignored the text and continued to practice the art of controlling the air she pushed leaves around and made marks in the trees by ripping off the bark, but this was not air in which she was doing this by she was some how using telekinesis to rip the bark. Suddenly her book was closed and she looked up to see her father very angry staring at her he then looked at the floating piece of bark and went wide eyed. Luna dropped it and stood quickly. "Luna never ever use that ever again," he said sternly.
"Why?" She asked curious.
"I didn't think you would have the ability as I don't, but maybe it skipped me."
"Dad what the hell are you so scared about."
"Do you really think telekinesis is an element Luna that's the Adapts magic dark magic don't ever use it. Ok." Luna nodded. Not all Adapts were evil as such just their magic was known for being used for evil. It was in some ways more powerful too. It consisted of telekinesis, enhanced abilities such as faster running, higher jumping and faster swimming. They could also bend someone's mind much easier even a quite strong willed person couldn't withstand the most powerful Adapts command, the last thing they controlled was the ability to control the darkness in seconds you could be engulfed by darkness and in agony, dying slowly and painfully. The fact that Luna could use telekinesis was scary in itself because that meant she knew how to use it without even seeing it yet. "We are going home, now!" Her father said sternly. She walked shamefully beside him. She was going to tell Gabby and Jess she couldn't hang out with them tomorrow. Something in her head wanted her to hurt them and the news her father just told her scared her, what if she was already being taken over by the darkness, what if that happened to Mark and Jack all those years ago. What if her going for that one hour was enough. What if Mark and Jack never actually died, what if they lived, she always shared a connection with them, the inseparable trio. What if that connection was pulling her to the darkness after 4 years.
