"Ayusin mo nga ang paghawak ng sign. Baka hindi tayo makita nun." - sabi ko kay V habang tumitingin sa mga taong lumalabas sa airport.
He was holding up a sign with a Jaycee Pajara - Aito Fokuda DUDES! EM HERE! written in bold.
"You know we didn't need a sign in the first place right? Jaycee knows you from the back of her head." - sabat pa ni V.
Hindi ko na siya sinagot. I was too absorbed in finding my best friend to even concentrate on anything else.
What? You can't blame me. This is the first time I'll be seeing my best friend in person after 8 long years.
Tumingin lang si V sa akin at nang nakita niya na naka ngiti ako, naramdaman ko ring ngumiti siya at hinayaan nalang ako.
After minutes of twisting and turning my head, I finally found a glimpse of my hyper bestie. By hyper, I mean a small human hopping and skipping while making her way out. Not too far away from her was Aito, smiling like an idiot.
Its hard to tell that they are actually adults. And that goes especially for Jaycee.
But God I missed her!
Lumabas sina Jaycee and I waved frantically hoping that they'd see me.
"V andyan na sila! Itaas mo pa!" - I patted his shoulder repeatedly while jumping up and down. Hindi naman siya nagreklamo at tumawa nalang.
Jaycee was scanning the crowd of people. Tinext ko sa kanya na magsusuot kami ng disguise ni V pero may sign kaming dala.
It didn't take long before she finally saw us. Her eyes lit up and she ran towards me arms open for a huge bear hug. "MAI MAAAAAIIII OMG MAI MAAAAIIIIII" - She exclaimed and hugged me tight.
"Jaycee! GHAD I MISSED YOUUUUU~" - I hugged her back even tighter and by now, we started squealing and hopping in circles like little girls.
V laughed as he watched us. "Uh babe, I'll go help with the luggage." - He didn't expect an audible reply because he went straight to Aito's direction. He knew I'd be too preoccupied to answer but he still asked anyway. Pfft.
We were busy hugging each other when Jaycee suddenly pulled away and slapped my arm. "I can't believe you!" - she pouted playfully.
"What? Na ngayon lang kita pinapunta dito?" - I tried to guess and play along with her.
She narrowed her eyes and said, "Na ang tangkad mo na pala! Ka-height lang kaya kita noon! Bat parang ang liit ko naaaa" - she wiggled her shoulders to and fro and complained like a baby.
I laughed and pulled her into a hug, "Na miss talaga kita Jays" - I nuzzled my face into her candy-scented hair. She hugged me back and I could have sworn I felt her smile behind me, "Na miss din kita Maimai"
"OK! Break it up! Meron ka pang hindi na-greet dito no!" - Narinig namin si Aito sa likod namin and I hugged him followed by a bro-fist.
