V's P.O.V.
The night after the accident...
"Hands off."
Voice laced with anger and jealousy, I try to stay calm kahit na may ibang lalaki na nakahawak sa kamay niya.
Nang narinig niya ako, dahan dahan niyang binawi ang kamay na nakatakip sa mata ni Myrah at binitawan ang kanyang kamay.
He slowly stood up.
I clench my jaw hard.
What did he do?
"I heard it wasn't an accident." Mahina niyang sabi habang nakatitig sa mukha ni Myrah.
His tone was serious.
Stop looking at her.
"You heard right." I reply.
Lumingon siya and our eyes met.
His eyes were drunk with a sense of hostility and anger pero kalmado pa rin ang mukha niya.
"Why didn't you protect her?" Tanong niya sakin.
I felt a sharp sting on my chest.
Na parang sinaksak ako sa tanong niya.
His words ring true and it made me even angrier.
"Why don't you mind your own business?" I snap back.
He snorted at my remark and acted as if I said something absurd.
"I can't do that Mr. Valentine. I won't sit by and do nothin. Unlike you, hindi ko hahayaang masasaktan ulit si Myrah."
Ako na naman ang nag snort sa sinabi niya.
"It's funny you say that. Diba ikaw naman ang unang nagdala ng sakit sa buhay niya?" I reply in a second, my anger getting the best of me.
Ang kapal naman ng mukha mo.
Every tear she shed because of you was a knife to my heart.
Hindi mo alam kung anong klaseng sakit at pagdurusa ang pinagdaanan ni Myrah dahil sayo.
He didn't say a word.
For a second, it felt like I had hit a nail but he covered it just as quick.
"Is that so? Well I plan to change that. Kaya kung hindi mo kayang gawin ng maayos ang trabaho mo bilang boyfriend niya, kukunin ko siya sayo." Tinitigan niya ako na may halong determinasyon at paghahamon sa tono.
He didn't waste time to challenge me then and there.
Ngumiti siya at unti-unting naglakad palapit sakin. His confident demeanour overlapping with mine.
"I'd like to see you try." Sabi ko, tinatanggap ang hamon niya.
Oo, marami kayong pinagdaanan pero ako ang kasama niya noong panahong wala ka sa tabi niya.
I won't let you take her.
Seeing the pride in my eyes, his lips twitch in annoyance.
He stopped walking right as he was about to pass me.
"Watch me."
With that, he patted my shoulder lightly and walked out of the room.
Wala akong ibang naramdaman sa panahong iyon kundi sobrang galit at pagmumuhi.
It was the first time in ages that I was filled with only rage and frustration.
Not only that but as time passed and I started to think clearly, hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko na matakot.
Matakot sa posibiladad na maging totoo ang gusto niyang mangyari at wala akong magagawa.
Pero hindi ako susuko ng ganun ganun lang.
I love her with all my heart and as long as she chooses me, I'll fight to keep her.
Kieth's P.O.V.
Lumabas ako ng ospital and I drove out to the streets.
"Sleep. I'm here. I won't leave."
Bumalik sa akin ang mga sinabi ko sa kanya at nakita ko ulit ang mukha niyang may sugat sa noo.
She was hurt again.
And it was my fault.
Kung hindi ko siya hinayaang lumabas sa office ko, baka wala siya sa ospital ngayon.
Pati yung walang kwenta niyang jowa wala ring nagawa.
Just seeing him stand there in the same room with her made my blood boil.
Pero wala rin akong magagawa. Siya ang gusto niyang makasama ngayon at hindi ako.
I at least know that much.
Sa ngayon, hindi ako ang gusto niyang makita.
So I'll think of another way to be by her side.
She doesn't need to see me.
All she needs to do now is rest and I'll care for her the way no one else can.
Sabi ko nga noon, we're back to square one.
And this time around, hindi na ako susuko.
