Episode 17 - Decision

Myrah's P.O.V.

Awkward silence fills the atmosphere as V and I make our way to my apartment hand in hand.

Yes. The food was nice but the conversation that went with it made me lose my appetite.

Kaya ayun.

Natetense ako sa sitwasyon namin ngayon at gutom na gutom pa.

Hoorah.

When we arrived at my doorstep, we face each other and smile like we usually do.

Hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko na maalala ang nangyari kanina sa restaurant.

We arrived and were led by the waitress who had our reserved table ready.

V pulled the chair back for me and I sat before he did.

Laking ngiti ni V habang nag oorder para sa amin and I involuntarily smiled at him.

Tumingin siya as akin with adoration and asked, "Oh? Bat ka nakangiti diyan?"

"Ikaw din naman ah." I smile teasingly.

For awhile, nakalimutan ko ang dapat namin pag-uusapan at hinintay namin ang pagkain with content and peace.

Nang sinerve na ang order namin, we quietly dug in and enjoyed the time we spent.

Well at least before he asked me a question in the middle of the meal.

"So, how was work? I heard na may bagong boss ka na." He asked nonchalantly while reaching out to sip his wine.

Nanigas ang mga kamay ko and I stopped myself mid-subo. Damn.

Oo nga. Sister companies ang company ni V at ang IJ. Of course, malalaman niya.

Regaining composure, I cough and put down my spoon. "A-ah. Well, yeah. Nag-meeting nga kami kanina. Kasama ang iba pang staff at models na nag-renew ng contract."

I feel sweat dripping down my temple.

Si V naman, kain lang ng kain. Oblivious to the identity of the man we were talking about.

Tumango lang siya knowingly, "Ahh.. ano nga yung pangalan niya? Khite? Ang weird naman ata."

I laugh nervously, "H-ha ha yeah... weird nga." Bat ba ako kinakabahan?

Trying to relax my nerves, I lift the spoonful of food to my mouth and continue to eat.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero parang bigla nalang may bumabara sa lalamunan ko. I find it hard to swallow.
