Lucifer Argent's P.O.V.

Urgency surged through my veins as I grabbed my phone, quickly typing out a message to everyone but my father. The situation was spiraling out of control, and I needed help. A knock on the door interrupted my frantic thoughts. Opening it, I found Devon standing there, his expression both concerned and curious.

"Don't ask me why, just trust me. I need to get her out of here," I urged, my voice strained with desperation.

Devon eyed me for a moment, and then, surprisingly, he nodded. "You've lost your mind, but we'll help."

Relief flooded me as he and the others pledged their support.

With her cradled in my arms, I ventured outside, my friends flanking me like a protective shield.

As I placed her in my car—ready to devour the miles between us and the pack house—I couldn't help but feel the weight of the situation pressing down on me. A journey that normally took an hour would now be a race against time.

"Thanks," I muttered, barely audible. I wasn't one to express gratitude, let alone ask for help, yet here I was, reliant on others to save her life.

The car roared to life, and I pushed the engine to its limits, tearing through the night. The edge of the woods loomed ahead, and as we approached the pack house, I knew the hardest part was yet to come. The challenge lay in navigating the secret route without detection, ensuring that chaos didn't erupt.

I parked the car discreetly by the roadside, every nerve on edge. Opening the door, I gently lifted her into my arms and stepped into the forest. The crunch of leaves underfoot echoed in the silence, each step measured, each breath calculated.

Suddenly, the low growls of wolves surrounded me. I turned to face them—a quintet of wolves, each embodying a rank: an alpha, a beta, and a delta. Their leader, the alpha, spoke first, his voice a growl of command.

" Give her to us."

I met his gaze, unflinching. "I will, but on one condition. I need to be with her, or at least know if she survives."

The alpha's eyes narrowed, but he nodded. I urged them to call their pack doctors immediately, every second counting. Reluctantly, I allowed an omega and epsilon to take her from my arms. The separation felt like a physical wound, a low growl rumbling in my chest.

"You returned her to us. For that, I'm letting you go," the alpha snarled, his voice a barely contained threat.

"No, I'm coming too." I countered, determined not to let her out of my sight.

The alpha shifted into his wolf form; his warning clear: "Know your limits." He sprinted off, leaving me behind.

The beta and delta stayed behind; their expressions unreadable. I gave them my phone number, telling them to keep me informed about her condition.

"Why did you save her?" the beta asked, skepticism lacing his words.

"I just did," I replied, offering no further explanation. With that, I turned and made my way back to the car, the weight of everything pressing down on me.

Back in my room, the silence was suffocating. My mind was a storm of conflicting emotions, the voice in my head taunting me with truths I didn't want to face. 'You're missing her.'

Sitting on the edge of my bed, I couldn't shake the anxiety gnawing at me. Would she survive? The thought of her dying was unbearable, but I forced myself not to dwell on it. I couldn't eat, couldn't focus on anything but the gnawing uncertainty of her fate.

When I informed my friends that I had returned her to the pack, I kept the details vague. They didn't pry, sensing the turmoil within me. My room, once my fortress, now felt empty and hollow without her. What the hell was happening to me?

I found myself yearning for her, wishing she were still here, beside my bed. The emptiness left by her absence was disconcerting. Was it longing? A strange need to be near her?

The silence was broken by the buzz of my phone. My heart raced as I unlocked it, revealing a simple yet profound message: "She survived." Relief washed over me like a wave, a breath escaping my lungs that I hadn't realized I'd been holding.

I needed to see her, hold her close. But I knew the alpha would likely resist my presence. Should I defy their orders? The thought crossed my mind, but I knew it would be a betrayal of their trust. My internal struggle intensified, torn between the need to be with her and the knowledge that I should stay away.

The next morning, Devon's announcement hit me like a punch to the gut. Anger surged through me, and I growled in frustration.

"What?" I snapped, my eyes narrowing dangerously at Devon. The news ignited a rage within me, a fury that demanded release.

Devon, oblivious to the storm brewing inside me, continued with his infuriatingly calm demeanor. "We've got the intel; she's been arranged for matrimony."

The thought of someone else deciding her fate, taking control of her life, was infuriating. My fists clenched, my jaw tightening as I fought to contain the anger radiating through my body. Whoever was responsible for this would pay.

"Tell me everything," I demanded, my tone icy and controlled. I needed every detail, every piece of information to unravel this mess.

Devon hesitated, sensing the gravity of my request, but he began to spill the details. As the pieces fell into place, I plotted my next move, determined to reclaim control over her destiny.

The hunt for justice had begun, and I wouldn't rest until I had secured her future.
