Chapter 13 | good morning

You woke up to a soft thumping noise, like a beating. You slowly open your eyes too see rain gently hitting the window, as will as the gloomy aura from the bad weather. You also notice that you had fallen asleep on L's chest right over his heart. You smiled at the sound of his beating heart and nuzzled up to him. Suddenly you hear footsteps come toward the room, making you panic and just pretend to be asleep again. It was obviously Watari he was the only one staying with you and L in the hotel.

You heard a snap of a camera shudder and footsteps walk away from the room. You sighed in relief that no one was around anymore, but then realised that picture will be floating around the orphanage now.

Suddenly you felt L move beneath you. He moved an arm to rub his eyes.

"Good morning sunshine" he said.

God his morning voice is so cute.

"Good morning Lawlipop"

You seriously sounded like a married couple like this. You really had to work up the courage to confess to him. Then you'd actually be a couple.

"Told you I'd be back" L said.

"If you didn't come back I would have never forgiven you" you joked.

"Good thing I came back then"

You pushed yourself up and sat up against the bed frame.

"We should get up" you said.

"Why? The task force don't arrive until 4" L replied.

"How much sleep did you get last night"

"About an hour"

"That's not good Lawliet" you said as he sat up.

"I know I'm trying..."

You stood up as he did and stretched out your arms.

"You coming?" He asked gesturing toward the door.

"I gotta get changed first" you said.

"Oh yeah I forgot that was a thing..."

"Get out so I can change"

"Ok, ok" he said walking toward the door.

You suddenly got a cheeky plan, making you smirk.

"Out!" You said lightly whacking his butt as he walked out.

"I-I'm going!" He said.

You closed the door and smirked at his reaction. That's another point to (y/n). You walked over to your suitcase and grabbed some shorts and a random shirt. You also grabbed a black jacket covered in badges and patches. You quickly changed and went out into the other room where L was already eating a cake. You grabbed a slice and started to eat your cake.

"Oh yeah, Misa called yesterday looking for you, she wants you to call her later" L said.

"Oh ok, I'll call her later" you said.

You took another bite out of your cake as L reached for another slice.

"Sooo... since the task force won't be here today... do you want to go somewhere to pass the time?" He asked.

You looked out the window to see the rain clouds start to disappear.

"Sure, where though?"

"I know a nice little park by a lake"

You smirked at the thought of another way to tease him.

"Sure, it's a date"
