Thanks to the whole handcuffs thing, spending time with L is rather difficult, Light is always there, glaring at the two of you like he wants to drive a wedge between you and L. You sat alone on your bed, staring at old pictures of you and L as kids, letting memories flood into your mind.
Flashback
"Lawliet!"
"(Y/n)!" Said the little 5 year old in oversized jeans.
"Can we play princesses?" You asked.
"Only if I get to be the knight that saves the day!"
"Then I dub the, sir Lawliet!" You giggled.
"Come my princess! We must save the world!"
L grabbed your hand and you both ran out to the garden and jumped, ran and laughed as you played games until sunset.
It soon drew to about 6pm, and being young kids, you grew tired quiet quickly, the running around must have tired L out too, because you both fell asleep on the floor of the play room, with a plastic tiara on your head and a foam sword in L's hand.
Flashback end.
You smiled at the memories and rolled into your back, hugging the picture of L close to you. You sighed, how did you fall so madly in love with him? You sat up and walked over to your cupboard where you found a plastic tiara from a costume you had and some foam swords from a different cosplay. You wandered out into the monitor room where everyone had fallen asleep, apart from L who was staring at the screens in front of him.
You ran over to him and put the tiara on your head.
"Sir L"
He turned to look at you and smiled.
"Playing princesses are we?" He said.
"Yes! Now hand cuff Light to the table and play with me!"
L did as you suggested and grabbed one of the swords, grabbing your hand and pulling you into another room as to not wake up the taskforce.
"Princess (y/n)! What should I do to save you today?" L said, over-dramatically.
"We must fight the dragon and save the kingdom!" You exclaimed.
"We must find the magic swords to slay the dragons! Don't worry my princess! I'll protect you!"
"Oh sir L! You flatter me!"
You and L let out your inner children the whole night, not knowing that Watari was watching the whole time and praying that nothing would ever come between the two of you.
